So, let me get this straight, Baldy is partially dressed with the new guy, both sleeping on the stairs?
What are the neighbors going to say?
I'd like to know that myself, just so characters can react with a clear visual.

I asked a clarification question before, and assumed SP's answer meant Baldhart is carrying her armor. In my last post, I implied she thought the armor would make a nice pillow. (Nissa did not agree.)

I think Nihal meant the same thing I meant: adding your level when doing a check.

But, yes, fighters get a hit bonus equal to their level. So Hall's attack is [1d20+1+STR] / [1d8+STR].

…and with a weapon he specializes in, I think it's another +1 to both hit and damage.
[1d20+1+STR+1] / [1d8+STR+1]

I'm not sure if by following Tyr, he can specialize in the spear for +2, or if he can't stack that, and instead he can specialize in both spear and sword (or spear and whatever he wants).

The weapons specialization bonuses won't stack. I think that would push things up a bit high at level 1. Remember, the boons etc. for the gods aren't part of the core rules. They come from a separate book as optional rules to make choosing a god more interesting. The balance isn't figured into the core rules assumptions, so I try not to overdo it. Probably best to apply the fighter bonus to a different weapon.

As for day/night and times. It is still dark when Arendal comes under attack from the sea. It was dark when Cadell met with Ghendra, and when Cadell left to return to Arendal. Ankari is waiting until first light to talk to the gnolls. That will be coming shortly, and will happen before anyone in Arendal gets back to the gnolls, so that side trek thread can move ahead without fear of running afoul of other timelines.

I agree with this call, considering +2 specialization is the fighter's level 7 skill. It also works out for Hall, I think, since he's using a longsword at the moment.

I just was curious! I really wondered (earlier) how a Tho-worshipping fighter would benefit if he specialized in hammers. (+1 to hit, +3 damage? Or no stack for damage so +1 to hit, +2 damage?) Yes, I considered all of these possibilities before the game started, but for RP I wanted Freya or Ullr for a male barbarian (before finally changing gender so I could play a Brynhild follower), so I wouldn't have played a fighter just to do that. I also chose INT over DEX purely for RP.

Yeah, that would be a bit much as well. The problem only arises if all players aren't doing it. I've run some games where every player is maxing themselves by choosing a god instead of choosing one for RP reasons. If they all do it, I just bump the monsters up a notch to compensate for it. But if you have one or two doing it and the rest not, that creates problems in that the monsters are over-powered for regular PCs.

That's what I thought. I have no problem with getting some aid in the rolls, but after a while that can quickly change to just having too much enjoyment away from the game-play.

Though I still wish I had a bump with the WIS rolls right now...cause I don't know how much more NyQuil I can give Hall before we have a problem on our hands.

The howl effect is interesting…!

Bath leads to fish-demon attack.

Attempt to save allies leads to wolf attack?

Maybe Llucheden will leave a trail of horse manure, which the Ghendra will step in, both fouling his mood and undermining his authority so who-knows-what will happen when the gnolls arrive in town.

Having a know-it-all southerner kill your priest then prepare to lecture you on hatred while forcing an unwanted alliance upon you adds to the fun.

Gisla wondered how gnolls and goblins could band together. She never played D&D Shadow Over Mystara (below). My brother and I played it last night, and gnolls and goblins teamed up often. They had hell hounds with them at times, but didn't ride them.

Posted in the main thread. Poor Liadan is having very little luck at all. Except that WIS save against the sleeping dust. That was impossible to fail.

Sorry, sorry. Hall has been going through some bad times, hit a couple of rocks, gave into the ice cream temptation and possibly gain a pound or two....or twenty.

Quick question guys. Should I stay silent in terms of postings until I'm no longer under the sleep spell, or do I need to post something for the rounds before he's back on his feet?

I don't think you need to worry about posting for the moment, unless you want to include some dreams. Hall is unconscious, so he's not really impacting the scene at this point. I ran into the same issue when Cadell passed out for a round or so after losing his hand.

I may be mistaken, but should players NOT roll WIS checks right now? I thought when SP said elves can 'recognize the threat' it referred to superior vision, not sleeping dust. I'm assuming if wind takes an arrow fired from too far, the wind has blown away the dust.

If that's the case, Bressel and Batos are available to drag/lift sleepy warriors, slap them in the face, fight, etc.

Another question, can I use the side quest thread for a dream sequence until my guy is back...if he is revived?

Cause I think it could help get a better sense of Hall's psyche and not interfere with the main storyline.
