@Hall, no harm in having a quick dream sequence. I'm doing one in the main thread, and if my character wakes up before the dream ends, so be it. Like real life, a dream gets interrupted.

I think it'll cause confusion if in Side Trek, but makes sense in main thread.

About WIS check for sleep dust, here's what I meant…

Baldhart and Hall, dragging one another upward toward safety, suddenly find a fine mist of dust settling over them, making them want to sneeze. Moreover, the mist tugs at their eye lids, cajoling them with promises of rest. Suddenly, the stairway platform looks more inviting than the richest bed.
^Dust settles over Baldy and Hall. They're down but the attack is over.
((Unless you can see out onto the docks, you aren't aware of the nature of the threat yet. Just that something is wrong. If you are human, you still won't be aware of the nature of the threat once you get to the top of the stairs or cliff, because it is still too dark to get a good idea of what is happening. If you're an elf, you will be able to make out the figures of the fish demons below, though not in great detail.

Anyone not on the map yet will be able to make it to the top of the stairs or edge of the cliff this round if they like)).
^I think here, "the nature of the threat" refers to the fish-demons. Elves can make out shapes; humans can't even see that much from up top.

There's no indication that the party is running into a spell that has a continuous effect. I think unless SP says roll a WIS check, assume you don't have to. (Or SP can clarify, since as I said, I could be the one who's mistaken.)

Bressel trying to wake Baldhart:
"Hey, you might like the new guy and all that, but now isn't the time for that, your friend from the tavern is watching, get up and lets intimidate the fishies!"
"I thought you was partial to winged naked female dwarfs."

I didn't roll a Wis check because no one said too. I think the check was only first round.

To bad Bressel isn't the smartest guy in the area, he could have grabbed a torch on the way.
"Me tough barbarian, need two hands to chop off parts, can't hold a torch."

Hey, I can't help if women get excited at seeing me arrive to town. And then attract fishy men in the process and cause a ruckus as a result. That's how I roll bro. That's how I roll.

woops! LS can you change up my post a tad so that keit's referring to Liadan not Cadell? lol rookie mistake there.

(also, since the attack was over i guess you can get rid of the bit with batos being knocked out lol) :p

@Keit, edited. I don't know what you'd want Batos to do, but I suspect he can't do more than bark until next turn or so.

Not one, but TWO misunderstandings! I kinda wish he said that. Would Nissa hear it?

@Something,

Good news, bad news…

 GOOD: You forgot to add your INT mod. If Aldar's INT is 16 pts or greater, the mod is enough to push your roll to a 13.

  • 13-15 INT pts = +1 INT mod
  • 16-17 INT pts = +2 INT mod
  • 18 INT pts = +3 INT mod

Successful cast = 12 + spell level, meaning +1 INT pushes your roll to a 12. If MM is level 0, you're fine. If level 1, you need 13 points to not zap the people next to you, so +2 or +3 INT is needed. So whether or not that spell hit depends on what your INT was when you created your character.

 BAD: The villagers saw you do that.

Just checked Aldar's profile, and he only has a +1 INT bonus. Still gets him a roll of 12, I think, but whether it worked remains to be seen.

EDIT: ninja'd. Guess the spell missed after all.

Hey, INT is still their prime, so they should be smarter than the naked barbarian. I'm not sure about Mauve, she had her naked moments in the recent past.

I expected Aldar to have a better bonus. It's not like it's easy to play a mage with random bonuses, unlike our show-off friends^ there isn't a single thing Mauve can do and be sure it'll work. Jack of all trades, master of none.

YOU! And these damn barbarian and people with cool bonuses! *pouts*

You people are all like "Oh, I rolled a 3 but succeed by 16":

xD

(No, i'm not jealous, I'm glad some people still have some sense to create a skilled character, hehe.)

Me, showoff? What's the most impressive thing I've done recently? Okay, so there was that 29 WIS check for Liadan versus the sleeping dust, but I'm not even sure if that was needed, so it might not even count. And her archery has SUCKED. Other than that, my chars aren't that impressive. :/

Okay, you've got me there. But it might not seem so impressive if/when it comes back to bite her or Ankari in the butt later. :/

Our human archers on the ledge can't really make out anthing down at the dock, so I doubt they could be sure of what they saw Aldar doing...once. second time, probably would be sure.

Hey, INT is still their prime, so they should be smarter than the naked barbarian. .
With humans, theres a 50% chance that Int is prime.

Mage is a tough play, the loss of control and corruption makes it so much tougher. I would not even consider it without 17 or 18 Int. Other places the bonuses don't matter as much, but with corruption they might save your life.

note: Bressel is not of the 50% that claim wis as prime. (Str,Dex,Con,) Wasn't sure why I picked thse then I read:
"The Barbarian gains a +4 to checks for feats of STR, DEX, or CON."

And this is why I play a cleric. Corruption is a non-issue. :D
