The roll I did for Decipher would have been successful if it had been the roll to remember (int) but with it being thieves ability it was wis based. 15 success for Int, failure for wis.

Branwen should not gate until we know where it goes.

She could freak(so could Baltos) if it amps up the energy when it activates.

I agree with Cadell, one person should go and see where it takes us, and see if it goes somewhere that might not be safe for other members of our group.
Pretty sure most elves would be safe. (Unless of course someone rememers a hubble thief-carni)

Cadell has already said there are two possible ways it could go, hence the names on either side of the arch. One is his home forest, and the other is a different elven wood. Cadell plans on going to his home wood by himself, since he doesn't expect his queen would welcome any strangers, even other elves.

ack. well we don't know what sort of dangers might lie in the other elven world would we? Its a fifty-fifty pick. choose a familiar danger, or pick and unknown danger.

I'm not sure if any of the elves except Cadell come from Aelwyd Eirian -- guessing not, since he would know them from beforehand if they did, and everyone who met on the ship going north were total strangers. There are no orcs or suchlike there to attack him, though the other elves would probably target strangers, as Cadell told Baldhart. I would think the people of Rhuddin would act the same, if not even more strongly, toward everyone, elf or otherwise, who didn't come from within their borders (which is to say, likely the whole party, unless Keit happens to be from there).

I am not goign to claim any source of birth unless i get my head straight again. If someone knows how this world is mapped out could they just send me a pic with the lands owned by elves, humans, dwarves, oceans, that sort of thing? it does not have to be perfectly detailed, and anything would help me figure out the exact route Keit took after her family was wiped out.

Ha, ha… I didn't even know there was a map. The Iron Mountain was just a literal translation of Baldy's surname. I assumed we could just make up places south of our adventure. I suppose as long as a mountain exists of this cognitive map (misused term), that's Baldy's home.

*meeps and flails* All I need to know is if Keit was born in Aelwyd Eirian, Rhuddin, or some other forest before she went adventuring and ended up in the north. But given that Aelwyd Eirian and Rhuddin are presumably still intact, and her home forest was destroyed in a fire, or so I gather from her backstory, the answer is C. So basically, I think you can just make up a name and I'll see about translating it into Welsh/elvish. ^^ Though it would be good to ask Steerpike about it just in case.

Aliron is a nomad, he would know alittle about alot of places but feel at home in none.

One: i hate politics. You can probably guess why i would avoid the queen then.

Two: Keit is more familiar with living in unexplored territory. It came on instinct for her to call for Rhuddin.

Also, who doesn't like a little mystery?

Edit: and if it is decided that it would be too dangerous, now I can just change the location! XD

Anyway, how does Noddfa (pronounced NOTH-va; soft th, as in "there") sound as an elvish name for the forest of Sanctuary?

I'm curious, Keit, why do you roll every time Batos howls? Seems to me that you shouldn't need to roll for a wolf's natural behavior; it'd be like making a check every time someone speaks. Is it some kind of Animal Companion power I'm not aware of?

Rawr. I keep coming up with songs for Cadell to compose and sing, but can't think of where or when to have him sing them. I seem to have missed a few opportunities already during rest times, which sucks. Stupid brain.
