@tbgg, I think you might have missed Leto's question to Kell in my post just before yours? Kinda answers her question about plans to get out of the pit. ^^

I think we were both posting at the same time and you got done before I did. That wasn't there when I made my post. But I updated mine to reflect your suggestion. :)

Revised "Thread of Holding" - it's a slight peek into the future. Buck will give you some gifts, including an "Orange Buckskin Purse" for each of you. The purse holds 3 items, though multi-use items like Strong Sake take up 2 item spaces. Anything that takes 1 space is a 1 use item.

There may be items that you can recharge, and those will also take up 2 slots. (The second slot will show how many servings/charges.)

You also have two slots for weapons. Since Akantha uses both swords at once, I'm classifying both as one weapon so she can also enjoy a spare.

The idea is that when you find a new weapon (or weapon set), you won't have to throw away the old one. And the other idea is for you to travel light, not be a walking arsenal with a sack full of swords. So the slots show what you can carry.

Once you have armor or special clothing, I'll create a slot for your outfit. I'm leaning toward a full outfit (one slot!) so we don't run into a situation where you have the Winged Slippers of Airwalking, the KO Belt, the Power Bra, the Fire Armor, the Tube Socks of Slightly Increased Walking Speed, and rings on your fingers and rings on your toes and a hand-shaped amulet so you can wear more rings and a third bracelet.

Hey, I need physical descriptions for both Leto and Akantha so I can describe them in the letter to Vivian. Kell doesn't exactly look like the nymph is LS' drawing, and I'm assuming the same is true for Akantha and Leto with respect to the Amazon and Huntress.

Leto is 5'8", slender and fair-skinned, with grey eyes and long auburn hair that she wears in two braids. She wears dresses and boots made of animal hide, and a cloak decorated with swan feathers.

Yeah, I hope none of your characters look like my drawings, or the Hades' Angels poster won't be very helpful.

You can just post the message and narrate that you added descriptions, though I am curious about what everyone looks like.

Oh... so I guess I do have a player who will pick "body paint" for an outfit.

And yes I'm serious.

Base AC is 6. If you're wearing little or no clothing, it's 5, and with armor AC = 7. A shield increases AC, and the iron maiden and fairy have a higher base.

A body paint "outfit" would mean you have 75% exposed skin and 25% of the body covered in paint. The paint will add more special abilities than a dress or armor, but of course you'll get hit more often. It's good for me to know your character's look so I can try to give her items that don't stray too far from stylistic choices.

Leto looks curiously at the poster, her eyes narrowing at the description of the breel. A shudder runs through her at the mention of fangs and a long body. The breel isn't exactly like a snake, but too close for her liking.
I planned on the breel even before I decided on the Olympian theme. When I saw Leto's fear of snakes, I had a feeling this monster would creep her out.

She'll wear some armor but not a lot. Vambraces, greaves, pauldrons and a chest plate. Maybe a shield.

Like I said, I'm just gonna have full outfits. You could have a body paint outfit and still get an AC bonus from a shield. The shield will be part of a weapon set.

The armor pieces you're describing work as an armor set. I'm fine with the fantasy armor that leaves half the limbs and the head exposed.

(50% of body covered in armor = fantasy armor.
10% of body covered in armor = chain mail bikini.
My armor sets are 50%.)

@Ireth, tbgg, there is limited item space in the purses so you can't have more multi-use items than there are players. That said, you two can work something out so Kell keeps the healing kit for now, and once Leto uses her shock trap, she'll free some space so she can have the kit.

Another option is to ask about the health roll, which costs more than the cookie. I'll just tell you: cookie heals whoever eats it, roll heals the whole party even though only one heroine needs to perform the healing action. She just needs to be close enough to the others. (Close enough to shove a piece bread into everyone else's mouth!)

The health kit can be like a cookie or health roll in the sense that you can use multiple supplies in one turn. And since it's not food, the kit can heal the KO'd.

I updated again. Note that you have body paint or an outfit. The only other type of clothing is armor.

Rolls to hit:
Body Paint / Naked* = 5
Outfit = 6
Armor = 7

(Keli's ivy armor spell adds 1, regardless of her state of dress.)

You'd be surprised at how many rolls I had below 6, and I actually didn't give the crossbowmen a penalty. I planned on -1 once you had them down to <6 guys, but for mobs, they get a bonus for having 2x, 5x or 10x your number.

*If all of you go skinny dipping (or in your undies), you'll be "naked." This means reduced AC and no armor effect. Body Paint will wash off, but not instantly. If you need to jump in the water during battle, the paint effect stays. If you're hanging out in the lagoon with nymphs, it'll wash off. Water-resistant body paint exists, and is likely going to improve swimming in some way. Pretty much anyone can paint her body. We can assume the nymph makes herself pretty while the amazon aims for a more intimidating effect.

@Reaver, I'm thinking the acid rainbow paint will come in earth-tones. Colors that resemble acid, basically. My original though was that you'd have many color choices, but you can just wear red. I think it works better to say it's multicolored, but greenish colors. You can do like Kell did and ask about color choices. The color should match the magic, so you won't have blue acid-resistant paint.

Assume anything at the shop is better than your starting outfit/paint. Kell's normal chiton will give her +1 to any roll during a chase. I'll need to start a storage bin now.

EDIT - I added new post in the Thread of Holding for your old stuff. Assume you'll have access to a supply cart. I can't imagine how the supply cart will be pulled though. (dreamily) If only there were some magical animal that could bear the burden of all your old things so you can switch items between hunts…

Do I sense a sidekick about to arrive on the scene and save the day? (Though if you're thinking Helix, I'm sure he'd be quite offended at the notion!)

Kell doesn't have anything to carry, so she's happy to carry the healing kit for now.

I'm thinking if not Ch.1, you'll meet in Ch.2. (Arcadia or Nyse—players have the say in where to go next, though choices will be limited based on geography and something else you don't yet know about.)

Right now, the only thing in "storage" is Kell's chiton, assuming she buys the more magical one. I can see Helix (begrudgingly) carrying a suitcase mostly full of Kell's outfits.

Feel free to give Kell some sort of artistic talent that can include designing dresses for herself. Nyse will have material, so if your characters spend the night there, we can assume you have a little time for new clothing. Likely, I'll give every outfit an ability, though nothing impressive if you just buy $5-10 worth of material as opposed to spending $60-80 on an outfit. Fair warning: prices are somewhat arbitrary and inconsistent from one place to the next. You can assume that Copper Toppleton runs the cheapest store in the game.

I'll update thread of holding later, when I'm not using my phone. Just letting you know I'm aware the update is unfinished.
