@tbgg, there's no friendly-fire risk for your spell. You can stand right in the plants, as can your allies, and they won't be entangled. The plants target anyone you consider a threat or undesirable.
The only catch is that casting is slow, so you need to wait one more round. But you can cast as often as you want. And you RP awesomely, so be sure to post for RP reasons though you already know the plants will come. You can direct them—focus on just the judge, just the swordsman, just the crossbowmen, spread to all threats—experiment! See what happens! Your character really doesn't know how effective her spells are until she casts. (This includes Charm Animal because it depends what animals are nearby—which you realize is in part determined by your die roll.)
@Reaver, you rolled 13 with a natural 6. So it was THREE bursts of strength—same combo effect as you get for attacks—each busting two ropes. You had just enough strength to escape; otherwise, you'd need another round as the dead man's torch rolls your way!
