Mauve isn't doing anything useful, and she'd just clutch at Cadell to not fall; it's not worth a post.

As far as subsequent posts go, Cadell will keep riding as he is until he meets an enemy or other obstacle. I doubt they'll reach the children for a while yet.

I hope you'll update tonight or early tomorrow, as I'm off to a wedding all weekend. Out tomorrow, back on Sunday. If no update, I'll PM vacation rolls.

Good to see the dice are cold for the enemy as well as our side too.

Bressel might have tagged one...barely, if he did.
Aliron isn't even coming close on melee.

P.S.: Just to make it clearer, I've been occasionally lurking around and reading the posts, I've not lost the interest or anything. I simply didn't have the energy to elaborate something—and my English degrades when I get tired—, for I spent the past week tending to my old cat, if not rushing to the veterinary, then working on the rest of the hours. But it's over now.

Hopefully, my intent with Baldy is clear. She's throwing one lizard at another. (According to grapple thread, each takes half damage from the throw/slam if one collides with the other.) She isn't walking as she throws... just stepping into the throw naturally.

She's also attempting to make her attack in a way that leaves room for Liadan. I expect Liadan can't shoot from where she is now. I picture it more like Baldy's roughly to Masama's right, but not pressed against the wall so Liadan can safely walk by her (on the right) to position herself for a clear shot at one of Ankari's foes.

Good dice rolls for the others.
Aliron has bow in the left hand and striking with the right.
So if a target pops up from the distance, he can step away from the melee and shoot.
Or if he gets behind a lizard he can place his sword in a new lizard skin sheathe.
I have to keep telling myself, fair melee is not his strong suit.

I also figure two handed fighting must be planned. If he uses his bow its hard to put it away and draw two swords.
Easier to fight with one and keep the bow ready, needed it once, might need it again.

I might switch primary weapons, +1 schimitar is 2-7 damage, lg sword is 1-8. Sacrifice one more possible damage to ensure I don't do no less then 2.

If Liadan shot the guy Baldy threw (I suppose the archer would have made the first move; arrows are faster than monks), that means both of my characters have opponents down to 1 hp. (I'm assuming they have 8 total and Baldy's victims took 3hp each.) Maybe Masama will finish that one off.

@Severin, I actually do see the sense in Bressel not using the sword. I believe Nissa does as well, but it is kind of funny how big these lizards would be from her perspective. I think about that sometimes when I walk with my almost-two-year-old. (B-day on Monday!)

@LS Thanks. Yeah, unfortunately that's the case, but this time we knew it was a strong possibility. No matter what you do, things like this happen.

Did anyone warn Baldhart lizards aren't supposed to fly?

@SeverinR Perhaps he has email notifications for PMs turned on. We could try to send one.

I know how much pets are really like a family member. Last night, my daughter gained a deeper understanding of that after Ginger the Fish jumped out of her bowl. It took ~20 seconds to get her back in the water, but much longer to stop the tears. Ginger lives, but my daughter still experienced that sense of loss and love.

How old was your cat?

Baldhart's understanding is that lizards and birds have some things in common. Both are white meat, for example.

She also heard that their limbs grow back. This, too, needs to be tested.

16. It was part of the family, yes, he was around for the most part of my life. At some point I had this "something is terribly wrong" feeling and I know what it means, so I did everything in my power for him, but I prepared myself. I'm more worried about one of my sisters. With everything that has happened this year I know she'll take it hard.

-----

I'm glad Mauve isn't near as Baldhart tests her theory. Baldhart's use of bare hands as weapons will make it a disturbing scene. Also, is it only me or anyone else found the lizards—with their yapping and everything—nearly adorable? Every time I read a scene of one of them barking I involuntarily go "Awwww". :x

It's good that you were there for him. 16's a full life for a cat, and an unlikely age without the care of a good owner. Sounds like you did plenty for him.

The first lizard Baldy killed made me laugh. He threw rabbits at her! I guess they're cute, but Baldhart's pitiless for a nun. If she makes it to an old age, she should teach at a Catholic school (or its Norse equivalent, which is probably called "a Norse school").

Hey guys - wasn't around this weekend except a bit on my phone. Ended up moving furniture, and hopefully that's the last of the moving weekends for a while. Update coming today, so if anyone wants to get anything in before that, have at it.

Cool… bring it on! If I can't post tonight there's always tomorrow.

I ended up tied up in family stuff last night. Do you see any reason I shouldn't just push ahead. We've got two people in the middle of fighting who aren't posting. I'm just going to have them go into defense mode, I think. I don't want to hold things up waiting for people, though I'd hate to see someone die just because they're not around.
