Yeah, I know it's not necessarily a demon. You confused me when you asked "another aura" as if maybe not knowing about whose shadow I was talking about.

Anyway... Hahahah! If the situation came to the burnings, after asking why Nissa didn't free them Mauve would have—

Nope! >3

P.s.: Uh... I don't think Cadell should be ahead of everyone. He ran upstairs, he talked to people, he got Líadan, they got to the stables, they untied the horse, they mounted the horse, they rode... Meanwhile Baldhart and the others were already running. The town isn't that big if he did make it in two turns and from what I remember it had more than one level, so, the horse won't provide a significant advantage there in this short span of time.

Oh, right. I guess we both have characters likely to survive being tied to a stake. Mauve doesn't even have to cut it close by waiting for the torch to come nearer.

You're forgetting that a running horse can move quite a bit faster than a running human/elf. They could easily at least be level with the others, if not right out in front.

Yeah, but as I've pointed out, they took many actions before that while the others were already running. The superior speed of the horse would have been more useful in a longer distance and without obstacles like people or stairs. Unfortunately it's only a horse, not a teleportation device.

Well, bear in mind that the rounds that took place between Cadell running out of the Temple and reaching the inn were only ~6 seconds each in game time, and I only delayed as much as I did because Steerpike said so (and because real life got in the way of posting, which it often does).

I think Burnbright will find Baldhart, even in the chaos.
I would have prefered she leave town, but I knew if Baldy stayed she would stay.

I hope Aliron isn't the sole survivor.

If Burnbright is killed we fail the mission, if the rest of the party is killed but somehow Aliron gets Burnbright away before Gnolls find her, the mission might continue.

Why is everyone so grim?

Do you know something we don't? Is there some way we can make it out of this without at least one more person dying? (Honest question, not meant to be snarky -- don't take offense plis!)

Hm. I doubt that worked. Knowing me, I'm not especially charismatic. XD

You guys are making me making me curious! >.<

@Ireth You just pointed out my exact point... Let's leave for SP to rule out who is where.

I have to agree that there is a no-death way out of this mess

Don't you mean there's no no-death way out of this mess? ^^;

@Nihal: Good idea. I'll just add that no matter where Cadell, Liadan and Llucheden are, I think it's still possible for Liadan to have heard Ankari, since she is an elf with superior sense of hearing, plus she was actively trying at it. (Plus she passed her WIS check, if only barely.) So we don't have to worry about that, at least.

Apologies to Baldhart -- I guess Cadell should have made it clearer that he was using Ankari's words, not his own! Though I'd imagine he'd add a disclaimer beforehand anyway. >.>;

From what I see,
at least one in the party must die.
as it stands if Aliron gets out of town without being seen, there will be one person that will live.

Apart from that, I don't know how many more will die.

OK here's what I did - I just made a list of the rounds that had passed since Cadell reached the Spear, and then I went through and for each character's posted action, I filled them into the rounds in a sequential manner, or as close to it as seemed reasonable. Anyone have an issue with the layout below? I'll post now, picking up at the end of Round 5.

Cadell Gets to Spear

Round 1:

Ankari drops Father Geralt
Cadell yells "help" on the steps of the Spear

Round 2:

Mauve jumps to her feet and runs downstairs
Ankari speaks to Geralt
Baldhart and Gisla head to the door of the Spear
Cadell tells everyone to gather things, it is time to go

Round 3:

Villager attacks Ankari
Ankari talks to villager
Baldhart, Mauve, and Gisla head toward Temple
Cadell and Liadan head out to the stables

Round 4:

Ankari kills Geralt
Arn and Ankari speak
Mauve disappears
Baldhart and Gisla arrive outside the temple
Cadell and Liadan are riding toward the temple
Bressel heads toward the temple
Aliron, Masama and Branwen head out
Burnbright heads toward the temple

Round 5:

Blacksmith swings at Ankari
Baldhart and Gisla try to see inside the temple
Cadell and Liadan arrive on horse
Mauve arrives on foot
Bressel and Burnbright are halfway to temple
Ankari takes up defensive position near temple window

Ah, I actually missed the fact that Cadell and Liadan were putting on their armor before leaving the Spear. That actually takes quite a bit of time. They benefit from GM oversight, but in case future events ever hinge on speed, be aware that getting into armor is not a very quick process. I'll post some times for future reference if you like. For now, we're going with the post above, as originally written :)
