We all know what'll happen if Ankari escapes. Either the villagers will lynch him and the rest of the company, or Baldy will hunt Ankari down and gut him like a fish.

Will she?

Nissa, I will run my blade through him if Gisla commands it, and if he falls, I'll hit him again to make sure he never gets up. If he flees and I find him later, no longer in Arendal or at Gisla's side, I will thank him for killing a man who burns little girls. But if he killed an innocent to silence a witness, best I never find him.

Nissa can't come out for another ~4.5 hours. I hope the Ankari-Baldhart conversation is just:

ANKARI: "Bye." (escapes through window)

Edit: I was always under the assumption that Nissa can hear and see for herself. Like she has a wider awareness or something. That was why I had Ankari yell what he said. Is that not the case?

If I recall it right Nissa can only see and hear what Baldhart does—excluding evil auras/entities-or-who-knows-what-it-is. She's bound to the barbarian except when she materializes.

Even the auras are only visible when she's materialized. I guess she has whatever special vision halflings have as well. (That is, if half elves get whatever special vision elves have.)

I'd imagine half-elves only get that special ability if they favor their elven lineage over their human lineage. I'm not sure how that would relate to halflings, though, since they're a different race than elves/ half-elves.

Well, halflings get duskvision and elves get twilight vision. But since half elves don't get twilight vision, I can assume quarterlings shouldn't get duskvision.

Not that I care. The valkyrie ability to see the aura on Darin was a cool surprise. Too bad he's dead.

2. Elf

• Animosity (Dwarves) -2 CHA penalty when dealing with dwarves with whom they are not closely associated.
• Enhanced Senses: +2 to any check involving listening.
• Twilight Vision
• Move Silently: No penalty at up to one-half speed; -5 at full speed.
• Spell Resistance: +10 to saves against sleep or charm type spells
• Spot Hidden Doors: automatic check within five feet of door; +2 to check when searching
• Weapon Training: +1 to hit with longbow, shortbow, longsword, or shortsword.
• +1 DEX / -1 CON
• +2 move silent; +2 find traps (if a ranger)
• +2 listen; +2 move silently; +2 find traps (if a thief)

3. Half-Elf

• Empathy: +2 to CHA checks
• Move Silently: (same as elf)
• Spot Hidden Doors: automatic check within five feet; +1 to check when searching.
• +2 to move silent and find traps (if a ranger)
• +2 to listen, find traps, and move silent (if a thief)
• Half elves favoring the elven lineage also get:
• +1 DEX; -1 CON
• Spell Resistance: +4 to saves against sleep or charm type spells
• Half Elves favoring human lineage also get:
• +2 to all attribute checks with a chosen secondary attribute.
• + 2 to saves against sleep or charm type spells

Another aura? Oh boy…! I wonder if it'll be a clearer image. Hopefully not a demon with a boner. I skimmed the part of Act II when I was back from vacation, then when I re-read it proper, I understood why Cadell and Liadan were so disturbed by that demon.

I think I confused everybody. The aura isn't necessarily a demon. I don't know what it is. Darin thought it followed him from the halls of the All-Father. (That was RP'd by PM, I think.) He also thought a rune-caster could figure out more.

I know Mauve wants to discuss this. Add this to the list of things to do if our characters don't get burned at the stake. Or even if they do!

Torch-bearer: "Any last words before you—holy @#$%!"
Nissa: (appears near torch) "Yup. Aura's bigger. Carry on, Torch Guy." *POOF* (vanishes)
Torch-bearer: "Uhhhhh… okay." (lights women)
Mauve: (to Baldhart) "Couldn't she have grabbed that guy's blade and cut us free?"
Nissa: (in Baldy's head) Look at my aura! Cut the rope! Does she ever shut up?
