I don't think Branwen was in the line of fire at all, so she should be okay, not unmoving.

Branwen lets out a high-pitched shriek as the flame reaches her, throwing herself backwards onto the hard surface where the rolls over twice, then lays still. .

She was burned, how bad I don't know

Just a general FYI to make sure everything is clear:

1) there is one small lizard left, huddled by the rocks. Far from presenting a threat, the creature looks like it would sink into the very rock itself if that was an option; and

2) something more ominous-looking is forming in the vortex of the rift Calexa's magic created.

well either you intend to kill us all or introduce a very nasty character. I'm betting on the second.

Also, if Batos is well enough to stand after being burned, expect him to be in a killing mood.

Edit: Saw this and i have to share it, would the lizardmen look similar to this i imagine?

Anyway, I'm worried about Branwen. And confused about Darin, I saw nothing about him being dead.

Steerpike told me via PM that Darin was dead. I kinda suspected it was going to happen.

Yes. Liadan was the only one in a position to realize Darin was dead. He was already unconscious when the blast hit, and thus not entitled to a saving throw to try to evade it.

Of the few left standing, I think Cadell is the least hurt. This definitely spells trouble if the freaky black thing tries to attack! Severin's right, I think we may be doomed.

SeverinR: just to clarify - the small lizard isn't moving toward anyone. It's just huddled fearfully against the rocks at the edge of the battleground.

True. And sometimes the PCs put themselves in impossible situations. I had a group of level 1 and 2 characters once that decided to go find a reputed dragon's lair. They found it, and the dragon. That one didn't end well
