Ruby

Dark Lord
@Ruby,

Fenella's slippers teleported her to safety. I'll count the 11 as her attack. (It would have failed as agility anyway, so you're better off this way.)

Hi Legendary Sidekick, thanks! I wondered where she was as I can't see her in the picture of the fire. As Noma says, "Nice flame effect!"

Has the power of the Ruby slippers been used up now? Does Fenella get to keep them as a fashion accessory or will she need more practical footwear for future battles? :)

Yes. The slippers are a one-use item. Most of the holiday gifts are will be single-use items that, honestly, make no sense for your character to suddenly own. As long as you guys don't mind items magically appearing on you, I'm happy to keep the holiday gifts coming.

We're fighting a barn, so while there really, honestly, truly is a plot to this game, I hope we can enjoy the game for what it is: a game, starring your heroes.

Fenella and others are hard to see on the map, so basically it's like this. If you can't see your character, ATTACK! It means a panicking orc is going to run into you as he burns to death.

@Ireth, smart use of character abilities! The shield bash normally requires a charge, but we can say Diana whacked the orc with her shield. The orcs are burning to death, so it's just hit or miss with these guys.

I should have specified... Fenella is obscured by burning orcs. (Look for her sword and legs near Reaver.) The characters can probably find each other, so let's just say that Mariya was able to point out Fenella to Muziko, and Muziko flies her to Fenella.

The lightning will hit at least two targets.

@Severin, since you sheathed and opted not to attack, you can do a quickdraw next turn rather than being forced to use the cleaver. Also, you can get your other cleaver back after battle. It was embedded the the head of the orange-haired orc, who is now impaled on a tree in the background.

I'll update today.

How do I roll 1d20 twice in one turn? Is it "repeat 2 1d20"?

EDIT: Nevermind, I just clicked "1d20" twice. Good enough. XD

I just improvised and had the cleaver knocked from his hands, and did the Clint Eastwood reaction in City Heat when he had his coffee spilt.

Rolz is hot, would have been better the other way around, quick draw 20 and then a an 18. (Nuki-uchi) But oh well.
I'm thinking my 20 might not be needed.

Can Shan Mai quick draw one sword one round and then the other sword another round while holding onto the first or is the Nuki-uchi only good for a two handed attack?

[When not in battle Shan Mai will practice using both weapons.]

New sidekick specials will be available. I can't believe they ALL rolled 20s. George didn't, but Addison rolled two 20s.

For those who don't know, I add a special move every time a sidekick rolls a 20. Addison rolled a 20 on her first turn, so I'll have to make her skill extra awesome (but not best in the game so you can afford it by the end of this episode).

I just edited so Fr. Ben replies to Jei.

I like the RP'ing with everyone in one place. I'm hoping to have some battle-free RP'ing for a while. You should be able to get back to town safely and buy skills*. Every character has an additional $1000 now, so while Addy, Babe and Paul will have expensive moves, you can guess that you'll be able to afford them later if not now.

Also, George will get accounts set up for pixies, allowing Mariya and Fenella to keep their funds separated. (I'll keep "joint accounts" for paired characters controlled by the same player, simply because it's easier. Holiday bonus $$ is per-player, but $$ earned in game is per-character.)

*The Sidekick shop is for any sidekick who rolls a 20, but someone like Addison has more to teach than the one skill advertised. Someone like Paul or Babe--regular people who roll a 20 and shine for that moment--just have that one sidekick skill.

I assumed everyone (player characters, that is) except Diana and Jei (and Addy) went to see Esmeralda, but that's just me. No one else has really been playing for a while.

You're welcome to head back to town, and Esmerlda's garden is where I'll eventually bring the important-to-the-plot NPCs together. I had to get through the hunt first. JRF picked a tough beast to go after. Non-huntresses would have a real hard time hurting one of those things. (Huntresses get an attack bonus vs. beasts, AND Jei and Addy already have attack boosts.)

You can also assume that Muziko is with the group, and she's most likely to gravitate toward Mariya if people split up. If you have any questions, Muziko will answer as best she can. (I don't want her to start infodumpily monologuing.)

I ended up going with a sleeveless qipao for Diana. The high neck was close, and I added a sash just so the rose trim would have a place to go that worked with the style.

These will be smaller in-game, so the weapon outline will (hopefully) not look so odd. I can't draw straight lines on a tablet, or even lines that pass for straight.

Also, I'm adding two missing straps (by the heel/ankle) to the sandals, which is what Julianne Moore wore with her valkyrie costume in The Big Lebowski.

I couldn't say the gown was ready in-game then not make it ready out-of-game.

I did all of these today, so it's likely I can have everyone done for April. If you don't mind me keeping things simple, I'll just draw characters with their common weapons for now. I can try to update several positions (or make an unarmed stance that I can add weapons to) later, but I've noticed that the game works well with just a battle stance and a KO'd position.

What are your thoughts on more subtle in-game changes to characters' looks? Like, say, if Vincent decided to get a haircut or something, being unused to wearing his hair long and not the type to want to tie it back. (I could have sworn it was short in the pic I showed you. His brother Dom is the one with shoulder-length hair.)
