I hope I did the right thing in rolling for Diana's "pure protection" move. I wasn't sure, since it's a defensive thing rather than an attack, to my understanding. Does Barney's attack only do damage if he rolls more than her?

  • Pure Protection: use your shield to protect another; attacks against the protected are rolled against you with increased defense, but your shield can only protect one person at a time
No roll is needed for this. It just means Diana's defense bonus from her shield goes to Paul, and she has to stand near him to shield attacks.

It doesn't say you can't attack when doing this, so if you'd like, I can count the 16 as an attack roll.

Okay. ^^ Does the "bleeding out at -1HP per turn" thing for strong attacks still count if the boss doesn't really bleed?

Yes.

He bleeds... uhhh... hay? He's actually divided into parts, but the bleed effect will cause his left leg to gradually lose health.

Fire has a similar effect, only much more damaging if you're engulfed.

Silly me—when updating the map, I realized Shan Mai has his sword sheathed on the map. No wonder he's doing a quickdraw. Well… seeing how he had a round of not attacking, he had time to legally sheathe his blade.

What makes this somewhat ironic (to me) is that I paid so much attention to little details, such as the frozen corpse gradually melting, another corpse and his blood cooking from the flame, and a tree in the background collapsing from the weight of corpses kicked into it. I even repositioned mega-Riff's legs to make it look more like she's being grabbed. But… I forgot to show the sword in hand.

Oh well. Next GM post tomorrow, with all kinds of special effects, an unsheathed katana, and something cuter than a barn monster gradually burning to death…

EDIT - SeverinR reminded me that he used a throwing weapon for his first attack, not his sword. So I didn't goof on the map. My memory is goofy.

Dandelioness tea only affects women, though not in a way that some certain teas only affect men. No worries on that creeping in game. I didn't wanna draw the fairy naked when her body was super-sized. I certainly don't wanna draw...

Oh! Look at the time! It's time to change the subject!

@Reaver, Severin, Phil, Ruby, please post today if you can.

@Ruby,

Fenella's slippers teleported her to safety. I'll count the 11 as her attack. (It would have failed as agility anyway, so you're better off this way.)

Yeah… I couldn't wait to post that.

@JRF, see Addison's attack. Jei can do that as well, thanks to Dandelioness tea. It allows you to use unarmed attacks, though not as skillfully as a brawler, nun, or character with the unarmed skill.

EDIT - @George Foreman, don't beat me up because the foreman named George is a combat-useless old man cowering high in the air. If not for the dice, he'd be throwing punches like you.

That's what this roll decided:

I mean it decided how helpful the old man would be, not… I mean… it's not about pants.

Nice, I'm sure it'll come in handy. It sure did for Addison!

No worries with George, he's our comic relief :D
