Ysgard RP Discussion Thread

Sounds good to me. ^^ Can't promise I'll be able to post much during the Christmas season, but I'll do my best.

Oh hell, of course! I know it'd be finals season for Tom as well as anybody else in school... I'll think of a lighter plot, but one with more action than Ilstenford. Er, depending on the type of action, I suppose.

I'm always around, usually, and ready to jump back in. Having the RP be a bit on-again off-again isn't a bother and I'd certainly stick it out as long as it ran.

Wow, you guys are way too forgiving. :p I suppose it helps that we all have other stuff to write (and/or comics to draw)...

This Sunday we'll be starting up again, if no one has any objections. It'll be similar to the bandit plot, because getting Chris in to help the party is the important part.

Also, I want to say that if anybody has a strong desire to play again when we're in a hiatus--like if you have a break from school or work, or if you're feeling inspired to write with your character--please let me know, because that would be dang good motivation to get going again. If possible I'd like to work with everybody's schedules, not just mine...

Hopefully I'll be able to play tomorrow. I'm working a morning shift, so I might not be available until afternoon...3:00 PM at the latest.

But anyway, I think it'll be good to get back to Ysgard. I've had some time to think about my characters and what direction I want to take with their development, so I'm definitely ready to see how my new plans play out in-game!

Sorry, I had an even later day, but it's up now! I'm sticking with the two-group encounter because it makes the most sense to get Chris involved. Something more will happen with the folks at camp, too--I'm not entirely sure how it'll go, or how any of it will go, necessarily, but that's the fun of it!

I added Troia to the outgoing party, I hope that's all right, Tom. Let me know if it isn't, and I'll edit my post.

Both the discussion thread and the story thread are at 69 pages. Heheh.

Edit: Oh! I wanted to add, in case it wasn't clear: the hunting party is far enough from camp that the cries won't be heard by Farrun, Loke, Einan & Ben... And it would be a long way to go for help. ;)

You guys can have your characters duck the burlap sacks if you want, and get into a scrap--though it'd probably be unlikely that all of them managed to evade it. Any way you slice it, though, the odds aren't much in their favor...

I don't recall saying that Rikhard ran with the others toward the screaming... I think people kind of assumed. I was hoping someone would actually answer his question before anything happened.

Oh well, I'll roll with it.

Dark Lord
Whoops! Yeah, I think I went off Tom's post, reading things in a bit of a hurry. You can have Rikhard come through a moment later if you like, or duck the sack--whatever feels natural?

Well, I was working through an idea, and then Chris' reaction threw me right off. Need to rethink Rikhard's whole strategy now. (Don't worry, Akumaru, not your fault.)

Well, hopefully I surprised the bandits too. Just to be clear, it's just sounds (I didnt summon a dragon or something crazy), but sometimes not seeing a big beasty coming to kill you is scarier than seeing one. Even if they dont flee, it should be enough of a surprise for people to get themselves out of burlap bags and defend themselves.

Ireth

Mythic Scribe
Yes, but my most pressing question is, would Rikhard know it's coming from Chris or would he panic and flee too? :/

Ireth

If he's panicked enough to have it override everything else, probably. ._. Running and hiding was his way of life for eight years, and it's not easy to just shake off. He hasn't been free from slavery for very long.

True. On the other hand, he knows about Thoros, so if he thinks Thoros has come to save them he might be suitably emboldened. I'll have to poke Rikhard a bit more and see how he reacts. Might not get a post in tonight.
