Neat picture, LS!

@SP: What would you like me to do about inactive PCs? There are a few cases now where I've made references to some kind of connection between a currently inactive PC and an NPC, and I'm just thinking that if someone new joins the game and sees these references to the inactive PCs I've made as they're trying to understand the story thus far and the players, they're going to scratch their head and wonder who I'm talking about.

It would be easy enough to add them an NPC and give them a tag of 'inactive PC', and then if they do come back and rejoin us, change them back to a PC and remove the tag. What do you think about that? Or would you prefer that I leave inactive PCs out of Obsidian Portal altogether?

My plan is to put inactive PCs in as PCs, which is what I did with Nodrick. I'm going to note that they are inactive and also indicate where they were last seen.

@SeverinR: To your own character, there should be. Interestingly, I only see this option when I access Obsidian Portal from a computer's web browser. I *don't* see it when I access Obsidian Portal via Safari on my iPad. If you're on the Characters page, then to the far right of your character's name, you should see a pale grey icon of a piece of paper with a pencil laid across it. That's the Edit button. (Alternately, you can click on your character's name, and when the details come up, you should see that same pale grey icon next to their name.). Hope this helps!

Thanks for the help with the Obsidian Portal pages. I'll be continuing to update those, but I'm going to go ahead and restart the game now. Just going through the last few pages to refresh my memory :) I'm going to reboot with everyone in town, and I'll start it as Act V so we can get a fresh thread going.

Have a post up. It's basic. Given the passage of time I want everyone to have a lot of leeway orienting their characters.

@LS: you might also want to mention something about there being a rumor of Aeron gathering power in the south and coming to face Aslaug. At the very least, his minions may be seeking Burnbright to ensure Aslaug's loyalty when he attacks the north. That came out when Ankari questioned Calexa. While Matthew would have known that, he didn't reveal it to Cali. You don't have to say you believe Aeron is rising, as SP told you guys most of you would be incredulous upon hearing it, but it seems an important part of the story, (That's what I get for trolling the back depths of the story looking for NPCs to document, heh)

Hey Sparkie - you should have Rydh drop in for a visit, even if it's just a cameo appearance.

Update coming within the next hour or so. Have a bit of the flu so it's just a matter of shaking it off and getting my brain engaged!

@Steerpike:

I went ahead and added all of the PCs who showed up for any length of time into Obsidian Portal, but for the time being, I've left them as NPCs, because once those records get marked as Player Characters, only the assigned Owner can make any changes at all to the record. I tried to go back and set you as the Owner for all of those, though it's possible I missed one or two.

If we leave those records as NPCs, anyone with an account who's been added to the campaign can make changes, though I'd imagine that the most we'd want to do is add tags, or maybe those avatar images that LS created.

I can still set them to PCs if you want; just thought I should make it clear how much it will lock those records down.

@SP:

New question now. If one of Cali's spells says it lasts 10 tn/lvl, I assume a turn means a combat round. Since she's level 2, that means 20 turns. If she casts the spell outside of combat, does that just mean it lasts 200 seconds, the equivalent of 20 turns?

@tbgg

Thanks for the help with getting PCs and NPCs into the Obsidian Portal page. Haven't had time this week to update it, but I will do more over the weekend.

I'll have to check on the "turn" length for you. C&C is based heavily on 1st edition Advanced Dungeons and Dragons, and in that game a "turn" had sort of a weird definition because of the wargaming roots of D&D. A turn was basically a longer unit of time that could describe multiple series of actions. If I recall correctly, a "turn" was 10 rounds.

A round is typically considered to be 6 to 10 seconds (I think C&C says 10), so combat is moving quickly. The reason some spells are described in "turns" is that they're often used outside of combat and it doesn't make much sense to describe them in rounds. Those types of spells, if they lasted 10 rounds, for example, would be much less useful outside of combat because they'd run out in under two minutes. Instead, if they last ten turns, you're getting more like 16-17 minutes of spell effect, which makes a lot more sense for things you're trying to do outside of combat.

Will verify when I get home.

I notice Korgak is listed twice in the NPC list. I'm hesitant to delete either one, though. Not sure which is the "official" one.

I'll take a look. Probably can delete either one. I had one that mentions he's leader of the Grey Wolf orcs, which is a good detail to keep.

One says he's their leader, the other says he's their chief, so I'm not sure it matters too much.
