"Dang it Aliron! You're not suppose to be the hero! Now your chasing two demons in a dark cave, with a whole army coming up behind. And you miss terribly in an attack.(If you caught up to them.)

Bressel is coming to slow the flow. A level 1 barbarian against a horde of fish demons.

Waiting for the right time to try a dual backstab and had a dual fail. But either way I would have missed.

I hope I get a decent roll soon, but triple crits I could see triple low scores too.

Bressel and Aliron can't die, because they're Big Damn Heroes.

Come to think of it, this entire scene from Firefly could play out in Arendal:

Villager: The girl's a witch.

Mal: Yeah, but she's our witch, so cut her the hell down.

Given Batos' predicament, I'd like Keit to have a little more time to respond. Will update this evening at latest.

I also notice two new people near Gisla...Tyr's sake, let's finish one fight before we get started with another. The curiosity of their identities intrigues me, but the paramount issue surpasses this urge.

You're not counting Mauve among these people, I hope. She's not near Gisla, she's to the right of the stairs hap curiously watching.

Poor Liadan... she knows what the right thing to do is, but the question is, can she do so without getting herself killed?

Baldhart said the water was fine, but that was before she went into the water with fish demon attraction perfume on.

Also, she has an anti-cold ring on, which is why she isn't worried about hypothermia… and swimming with armor on is bad too. Maybe Hall can stand up where he landed, but… there is that fire at the bottom of the stairs, and damage for falling is 1d6 for every ten feet. Oh, and did anyone notice those fish demons get two attacks in water? 13 damage to Batos. There's a reason Gisla suggested not swimming.

I'll have Baldhart help in a non-suicidal way, but she's trying to get people off the stairs first. I'm not sure how many turns it takes to do that.

She needs the rope for the non-suicidal assistance—I'm hoping her strength can move people faster, make it less likely the people on the stairs will fall, or both.

By the way, should Keit and Liadan clarify whether they're climbing or swimming?

I'm still debating that point... Liadan's compassionate heart says "save the wolf!" buuut her player says "don't sacrifice our only cleric!"

Well, it's best discussed in-character and not overly planned since a turn should be 6 seconds… but there are ways. They're just slow. The problem with everyone jumping in the water is that instead of saving Batos, we might put more party members in jeopardy. Then the gnolls have to save our asses, which is fine with me, but my characters would really hate that!

I wanted to have Nissa do more for Batos, but lacking healing magic and any material for bandages, it didn't make sense for her to ignore the danger to the children in the caves, who she's pretty sure she can save if she acts fast. (Hence her approaching the militia despite that being a bad idea in many ways.)

Pro tip: It's not because a character can pull something off that every character can do the same thing. Know your character, know his limitations and strengths, don't play by another characters' standards.

Example: If Baldhart jumps don't follow her unless your character doesn't mind the cold, has nothing on him to make him sink and have a way of getting to safety by himself—ooor unless your character has some truly strong reasons that would make him jump to his death no matter what.

Steerpike is quite kind, but don't abuse your luck. I would also thank if people stopped taking random suicidal actions. Geez, you're going to kill all the good characters forcing them to save your characters! xD

~~Meanwhile Mauve is watching. Just watching.

Spoiler: Baldhart's planning to use the rope to save people. But… she can't pull up several people in one turn. More like one person in several turns.

Also don't forget, experienced characters are level 2, close to 3. Experience helps and extra hp do too. Brussel is 1st level and I am learning what he can and can't do.

Well keitsumah only has enough mana for one more spell (unless she got one mana back by now? How long does it take to get one mana?) and she knows that she has to use it to get the gnolls, but since Steerpike was nice enough to give me the chance to save Batos's ass (i thought he would have died takign that much damage), unless someone else has healing capabilities like Liadan and acts fast, I'll have to have keit go down and heal him (her character would not do anything otherwise -he's been her near lifelong freind!) and then we'd all risk the gnolls. Plus, i have waaaaaay too many plans for him to let him die now!

But then keit hasn't had the chance to try and talk to the gnolls yet... who knows how that would turn out? (lol she seems to be the most accomplished speaker among the group and can do so without ruffling feathers) hmm... are they superstitious in any way...? *evil grin*
