Mythic ScribeHey guys - sorry for the delay. Swamped at work, but going to try to catch up at lunch.
Every spell requires a spell check to cast. Life magic doesn't risk corruption, though the spell can still fail. So far, there haven't been any runaway magic effects from life magic, though whether that will hold true at higher levels remains to be seen.

Then our healers have been doing it wrong all the way. xD
@LS
You're evil! To forgive your evil deed I shall randomly request Nissa's help in lying.

Mythic ScribeYeah, actually let me back up a step, because what I said above isn't true, though that's how I used to run it.
For this game, if you're casting a healing/life spell from your own spell list, you don't need a check. If you're casting from another spell list, or if you're just an elf (non-caster) who is trying to cast a healing spell, then you need a check.
Sorry for the confusion. I ran it the other way for many years, but finally ditched it after one too many TPKs full of failed healing casts.

Valar LordOne more thing (actually the thing I was confused about all along)... the Purify Food and Drink Spell is on Liadan's list, so she doesn't need the d20 check, but there's no die roll specified for its effects. What do I roll then?
@Ireth
He said you need a check for everything except healing spells. So, a d20+bonuses it is.
