30 feet to Tommen—nice! I chose my target wisely… that is, if shields keep me from catching every arrow and I don't get hold-personed. (That's why I'm readying the action with a footnote about moving with the shield guys rather than having Baldy rush in way ahead of the others.)

I love that Tommen moved in front of the lady. I'm hoping by removing line of sight, I won't get hold-personed before my attack can land. Out swimming with the kids, but just had to check in and see ho things are progressing here.

(Yes, there are other adults watching them.)

I wonder if Liadan might be able to get a shot at Calexa once Tommen goes down... hopefully it's a lucky one like the one that killed the lizard!

The critical questions for Mauve are: How many minutes passed since they started to chit chat and... would her Darkness spell still be active?

I guess you'll wait for SP before posting (which is fine), though I suspect the dying fire, the slow walk in the dark, the climb, and the chat ate up those minutes.

Oh… and the 6-second battle. I forgot to count that!

LS, apparently they didn't cross the walkway in the dark, so I still have the tiny hope that the darkness is not over yet. If it's still working, possibly it will vanish in less than one minute.

In any case we'll discover soon if it's gone, but I hope that at least if they had a lesser protection up it's gone or almost vanishing too.

((Kinda ninja'd by SP)).
Hah! Then we will really discover soon! Mauve wanted to discover how the runes are going to bother them, but I have this feeling she'll just ignore the poor wizard now she became a "pet".

P.s.: Oh, man... Mauve won't try her shield spell for a long, long, long time, it's an amazing way to conjure the bad luck back! Or maybe she'll try again soon, if she survives.

Hey, getting my character possibly killed is bad enough! What comes next? "Unexpected visitors"?! <o>

I must admit I'm finding the whole situation extremely funny. I should be "Oh, I think I got my character killed now she botched a spell surrounded by enemies", but it's too funny! "Pfft, I'm a pr0 mage, I can handle this—damn."

PS - My post that says my readied action is triggered assumes Baldhart can see Tommen. Ideally, she sees him look at Mauve and getting zapped by her spell-fail. Also ideally, the spell-fail happens in an instant, so it's not something that can be run into.

I'm also assuming that players posting within 24 hours acted simultaneously, so it's not like Mauve goes "@#$%%%%%%%%%%%…!" and Baldy goes "CHARRRRRRRRRRRGE…!" and everyone else is like, huh. There goes our 1:1 male-female ratio.

Yeah, everything is going to happen more or less at once, with mauve having a split second head start, since she initiated the action. That includes any readied actions of the enemy, assuming they weren't affected by Mauve's spell failure. I'll get the details of that, and a map, up when I get home.

As an aside, how many corruption points is that for Mauve? I can look it up when I get home, but I can't remember it offhand.

Yeah, I positioned Baldy between higher AC shield guys, figuring Tommen's arrow has her name on it. (As an aside, no flank penalty for barbarians, should lizards shoot around Cadell or Darin.) I wonder if darkness and/or zapping goofed his readied action.

I'm also curious about how good his bow is when engaged in melee. Fun things to find out before vacation!

She spent 2 MP points the last time she attempted Sound Blast. That would make it a lvl 1 spell, then, +1 corruption, totalling 3 shiny corruption points now. (and 0 remaining MP)

Cadell says thank you for the healing, Keit, but I'm not sure if it worked as planned. Cadell still has the arrow in his thigh, and he can't pull it out himself as his arms are both occupied. :/ You may have gotten the arrow stuck permanently in him.

Keit - good news/bad news about the charge. 12 probably missed, but you add +2 when charging, so it's 14. (You can't charge next turn, but Batos was at charge distance for that turn.)
