That's what I'd been expecting from the get-go… made the most sense to me, given the situation. ;)
Honestly, I prefer this despite the chaos it brings (or maybe because of). I think Primary Instinct is the main reason to play a barbarian and not a fighter. They should be awesomely strong, and no one should want to try and overpower a barbarian.

As for not damaging party members, I'd agree with that normally, but if a party member is carrying two others to their doom and it's a choice between one taking damage or three…

Which is exactly why Cadell is seriously thinking of slamming the pommel of Baldy's sword into Matthew's jaw. ^^; Better for him to be unconscious than monster-chow! (As long as Phietadix doesn't mind!)

This is as good a time to ask as any…

So, punching does subdual damage, right? So if a character has 10 HP, and Baldy punches him twice and rolls 5, 6 (it's 1d3+STR), the target won't bleed out. That I get.

BUT… is the target at 0 HP, or is there some kind of thing where you keep track of the subdual damage and the HP separately like *PUNCH* 5/10 HP, *SUPLEX* 0/10 HP… so when the guy wakes up, he's not wounded (10 HP)?

I'm… not even sure what the hell that is. I suppose it's you lose HP but don't bleed out, but I thought I'd ask anyway.

You lose the hit points, but non-lethal damage heals faster. I think it is 1 hp / level / hour. I'll check to make sure when I get in.

Oh… good to know. So my question wasn't stupid.

Will you have 1+level+CON like you do with the full rest for lethal damage? No problem if not, just curious since your house rule speeds up healing significantly and I didn't know if you'd do the same for the non-lethal damage.

Just three hours and Algernon's good as new! Ha, ha, ha! (No worries… even then, it's a last resort.)

You could do it anyway, at least if there's any reason to think he's marching into the open maw of a purple people eater. It'll take a few hits though. Maybe it's worth seeing if Baldy can save Mauve and Aliron… though even if it does, I don't know if this is the turn we find out.

Questions:
1) Is the pommel equal to a punch (1d3+STR non-lethal)?
2) Does the DEX mod apply to charmed targets?
3) Does Combat Sense apply to Algernon?

My guesses are yes, no, no.

If it were up to me, I'd make the pommel do a bit more damage than a punch (maybe a d4), since metal > flesh and bone. But that's just me. Cadell's going to have trouble anyway, with that -2 penalty for his off-hand, and no STR bonus.

Matthew is unimpeded and can move enough to get down the hallway. If you want to swing at him as he goes by, feel free, though. If you hit him and it stops him, I'll add him into the map. That's a 10-foot wide corridor, and even though the avatars take up a lot of space on the map there is actually plenty of room for him to get past. A hit might stop him or slow him down, however.

Ah, okay. Just curious because Matthew started out behind Algernon when he picked up Cadell and Keit, which would put him in position for Cadell to swing at him. Unfortunately I don't want to hit him until Phietadix responds to the PM I sent him, and he doesn't seem to be online yet, so that could be a while...

OK. I can wait until we hit the 24-hour mark to post the description to go with the map. Although keep in mind the opportunity for Cadell and Matthew to speak is limited (especially since Matthew is charmed). Algernon, moving while carrying two people, is moving more slowly than either Matthew or Darin (who has gone down the hall as well). But Cadell would have time to do something with respect to Matthew as he passes. He has to move right past Cadell to get anywhere.

Well, Cadell's not going to say much to Matthew except "Sorry about this!" *whack* So he should be fine. XD

Just hit him so we can see the description.

Heh… I kid. Easy to say when I'm not the hitter or "hittee."

EDIT - Seriously, Ireth… you and Nihal have been a huge help keeping me in game during my breaks at work. Now that I've seen the map, I can guess what Baldy's next play is. Don't think I'm trying to put on pressure.

You guys can play it how you want, though asking permission to hit him would be fruitless in his charmed state. I'll move ahead when something is posted, or the time runs out, whichever comes first ;)
