Bressel fit right into plans,
I didn't make the character because of our need, I was bored looked over the classes, and decided to roll a tank,
first was going for simple fighter, then looked at abilities and decided a human barbarian would be a great combination.
Then when I finished I was like, well we technically don't have Mathew and lost Darin, so why not ask.

I didn't know there was a PM limit.
Maybe we should add alternate universe thread? So when the party is divided posts can be made without the main group having information they wouldn't know(Unless they look).

Its hard to follow a PM encounter, and you have to send to everyone that is involved.
With an alternate thread, everyone thats there will be able to follow and refer back as needed.
When you get to many messages in the inbox, you have to delete some, maybe information you might need to refer back.
I'm think Ankari would run wild and free there.

Short side notes can be done in messages like my treasure seeking, but if it leads to a battle then it could drop into alt, universe.

Actually, we could just do a encounter specific thread.

Keep main action in DEIII,
but for split action the person or group can create their own thread title and drop it when the encounter is over or use it againi next time they split from the party.

Like Mauve could do a "Mauve's Diversion thread"
Or Mauve's isolated adventures if she wants to keep it going.

Then if for some reason we have three groups they each could be handled individually.(one would stay and two would go alt. thread.

I don't quite get it. It would make it harder to keep the timeline right in this situation. Besides that, some stuff shouldn't be revealed until the time is right.

I can see this happening when the characters truly part ways (E.g. Someone goes to the town for a bunch of days while the party go to a dungeon), but when it's a short period of time it would only create clutter.

Like I said, short encounters can still be done in PM's but for longer or more action then start a thread.
Like Baldy, Mauve and I, we had a fight away from main group.
Alittle to much to PM between the four of us, but our actions shouldn't be included in DE2013.
Even that was a little short, but had many PM's to keep up.
I would think figuring out time would be easier comparing the posts between DE2013 and Alt thread compared to reveiwing so many PM's, possibly deleting some during the encounter.

6 Pm's per hour vs. unlimited posts on a thread.

Well, I agree that it was a little troublesome since non-staff members also have a limit on how many people they can PM at the same time. I had to send the same PM twice and I've learnt to periodically download my PMs and clear my inbox, heh.

What bothers me is that what happens in these situations should not be available to the other players read; it makes harder to lie and distort the facts and sometimes keep the other characters from attempting to know what happened because they magically know.

It's not a bad idea, and gives an additional option. I think what I'll do is make a separate sticky thread called Side Treks. We can have one thread for this sort of thing instead of multiple threads, and we can use headings to keep track of when one Side Trek ends and another begins. If either I or the player decides they'd rather keep the action secret, we'll continue with PMs.

@Nihal:

There are definitely times we want to keep things secret, so I think what I'll do with the Side Treks is as above - if I decide it needs to be secret or the player prefers it, we'll keep it secret. We could even use email if people don't like PMs (I've done that already a little bit).

So for what Mauve is doing now, do you prefer that's kept secret from the others?

EDIT: If either person wants it to be secret, then it's secret. Anyone involved has a veto over making it public :)

Secrecy is always fun. >D

Given her luck she may be be joining them soon and it wouldn't be needed. Maybe not, it all depends on what is going to happen, if she sees some good opportunity to cause havoc, the usual.

P.s.: I wonder why people have been mixing demons and cooking lately.

Quick note for SeverinR: The bow Bressel's borrowing from Cadell is a composite shortbow with 1d6 damage, not a 1d8 longbow.

I agree with this.
I would also make a case by case decision to allow one person to be secret and the other not. That way avoid a fight/annoyances unless necessary.

Good point, I thought it was long bow. will have to correct unseen servant.

Oh, I agree, Aliron has his secrets. Definately easier to hide them when not on public display. Although if you look at my character updates you can see evidence of his secrets.
Even if using a side thread, things can be secret in PM.
Aliron tends to do treasure hunting when no one is looking, I believe the party was split, and I found the first treasure in a PM.
This can still be done that way, even if in a sub group.

@Severin, you rolled a 12. I don't know if SP combines our rolls, or if that happens before Baldy's return. Anyway, don't forget to add 8 to the roll. 1 = level, 3 = STR mod, 4 = Primeval Instinct skill which is the reason to pick a barbarian over a fighter. Fighters maybe be better in battle, but barbarians are really, really strong. (Well, the +4 is for DEX and CON checks as well, but STR is the one you'll use most. Maybe you'll use DEX a lot too since your barb's DEX doesn't suck.)
