I'm afraid not. It's having a hard time geographically pinpointing the IPv6 addresses. I may turn off the flags altogether, because they're not going to be very accurate for some of the IPv6 addresses.

I also think that the new chat system will lend itself to greater levels of activity. However, we're going to give it a couple of months, and then see how active it is once the shiny newness has worn off. I think that this setup encourages more participation than the last system.

I tweaked some of the avatar settings since the chat system was first installed. If your avatar isn't showing in chat, please log out of Mythic Scribes, clear your cache, and then log back in. That will fix it.

Nice - it's working and I can see my avatar. I'd have stayed and chatted, but it was late and my wife wanted to chat with me.
My main issue at the moment is that if I sign out of the chat I will have to log out of MS and then back in again in order to get back into the chat.
This is mainly an issue because I regularly use different computers to access the site, and if I don't sign out there will soon be three different Svrtnsses in the chat.

Rather than signing out of chat, try selecting "turn off chat". Let us know if that works better for you.
Just closing the browser that you were using should also do the trick. I also access the site through different computers, and simply closing the browser (not minimizing it) seems to be enough to get me out of chat.

Well, I've heard about the censoring system of the new Cbox before, but I had my first run in with it tonight, so I have to ask what the logic behind including that little "function" was?

It's a standard feature that comes with the chat system. Seeing as profanity is prohibited here, it wouldn't make much sense to disable it.
Was it being overzealous? I've adjusted the settings as of this morning, so now only the most vile profanity should be blocked.
I was positively surprised to see that the chat system was alive and functioning during the entire maintenance. It may very well have been the case that this applied to the older chats as well, but if that was the case, then I didn't notice it.
New chat? I approve!

I have a question about this chat system. For some reason it doesnt seem to appear on some computers I use, while it does on others. Is there some sort of security whosit or setting that I need to enable to make it appear?

If it's not appearing on a computer, make sure that you're running the latest version of the browser. If the browser is already updated, try clearing the browser's cache. If that doesn't work, try using a different browser altogether.
If the problem persists, let me us know in this thread, and we'll investigate the issue.

Weird, I have the most updated version of chrome and it doesnt work (it just doesnt show up at all). On another computer I use portable chrome (because the browser there is explorer 5 and I dont have permission to install a more recent browser) and it works there. I would have thought both would work. On the computer where it doesnt work, I tried explorer and it works. Grumble, grumble, grumble...

On the computer where it doesn't work, you may want to try logging off of Mythic Scribes, clearing your browser's cache and cookies as well, and logging in again. It's possible that an old cookie is blocking it from loading.

I cleared it earlier and relogged in and it didn't work. There was an error at the top of the page (kind of hard to make out because it was black font against dark green background, so I didn't even notice it at first) that said:

Chat system seems to be totally missing for me this morning. I trying logging out and in again. Still not there at all.
It's working here. It's a bit quiet, but that's not unusual.
