"Good back up plan, Alin. Let's head to the boats now and hope it's not needed.

"As for you, Bressel, I have a scimitar just like Alin's. It doesn't hit as hard as a real sword, but I'll admit it's more accurate than any other weapon I've used. As for me, I found I am able to swim quite far with my preferred blade, so neither of us will have puny daggers should the dogs attack.

"No armor, though… so swim under as far as you can effortlessly."

(('Effortlessly' = in-game-ese for 'without a check.' I think Bressel can go 30 ft without a check and Baldy 90 ft? I remember # of underwater turns = CON bonus, so I'm assuming 30 ft per turn. Bressel had +1, Baldy +3. I think we could go further with a check, but assume a failed check means we gasp loudly for air and give away our position. I think the docks would keep us out of sight when our heads pop out of the water.))

((OK, just to clarify since we seem to have two different lines of intent: is the party going to hunker down until nightfall and then head for the boats, or head over to them right away?)).

[[I will go with the group, I am only a strategist, not a leader.
I shoot so much better at night.
So if...When we get in, we keep our presence secret as long as possible until dusk or we slip out.]]

*****
"They're the only ones I saw with bows. The goblins, that is. A bunch of them had crossbows. The dog-faces are using swords, and the biggest one of them had a shield and some beat up armor to go with it. He looked pretty tough. Wargs are...well, they're vicious, and the scare me the most, just by the look of them. But the way that dog-face leader was fighting and ordering everyone else around...I bet even a warg would think twice about tangling with him."
*******

"So if we are caught, only the goblins had crossbows, so 16 goblins could fire in all,
I estimate 8 could get there the first round after they are alerted, 4 more the second, and 4 more the third.
This is when the distraction will help most. Draw out the crossbows."
I adjust my equipment to ensure nothing will fall off if I have to climb or run.
"What the others will do at that point is unknown. They don't have missle weapons, but they might find something to improvise or they might attack the Crow, and might have enough time to kill all before we can climb up."
"I believe it might work, but Mauve's diversion is most important."

((I'll answer that in-game…))

"I personally would prefer to move out now. Darkness is ideal, but… a lot can happen while we wait for the sun to go down. If the dogs get impatient, who's to say they won't call Grim's bluff?"

Cadell

"I agree. Every moment we stay here is a moment their patience grows less. If we strike, it must be now."

((It was supposed to be during the day until SeverinR discovered the day wasn't a night. =P))

"I will not stay put here until the night. You can wait if you wish, I will not. If that's the case I will leave the ropes ready for climbing," I cross my arms, tapping one foot on the ground.

"Alin, we are all in agreement, it seems, to at least get to the Crow. I think from there, we'll know whether Grim and whoever else is inside is willing and able to fight. Nissa can get the message to Mauve, no matter what the message is… assuming she can fly low along the cliffs by the shore, and still get back to us if we need her for fire-bombing."

I nod and take a deep breath. "Right... standard battle formation, then? We'll have to adjust for our new comrades, though..."

"Then I will be going," I say in a low voice. I kiss Branwen's forehead and turn to the forest, attempting to sneak away from them.

((For the fun!))

AlironI move out silently, a silent prayer 'Bless this group with silent and safe movement, let us reach our goal without having to shed blood, also bless this arrow in my hand to strike true when I do use it."
Watching out of the corner of my eye the closest of sentry's at all times, we continue around the tree line until we reach the sea boundry(cliff or water).

Bressel
I follow behind the group, consentrating on moving quietly, as if stalking a deer.
[Longbow in my hands, arrow ready, scimitar on the hip, and great axe on the back.]

[[rule for sneaking around sentrys, never look directly at the person. Lore says the sentry will feel your eyes upon them.]]

Líadan

I spy Mauve as she tries to sneak off, and reach out to pull her back. "And just where are you going by yourself, dear?"

"My moneys with the majority, I say we move out now. There's a distinct possibility we could miss something if we dont.

Aliron"money? You think money might be in the bag?"

"Who will carry Branwen?"
"I guess Egoranger will do what he wants." I look around trying to see him in the trees.

SeverinR

Valar Lord
"Aliron, I will ask only once again: Were the watchers in the cliffs looking down?"

"Sorry, so many distractions, I didn't notice them look down as they patroled."
"wait, was that you trying to sneak off?" I glance to the other elves. "talk to me later, I'll teach you some things." I smile at her."Until then error on distance, rather then stealth. Better they can't see you then to try to hide."

I carry Branwen and guide her to wave bye-bye at tip-toeing Mauve. Yes, good thinking, Mauve! Make it like a game and Branwen doesn't panic.

I think she's really trying to sneak.

Oh… nah… ummm… oh! Oh, @#$%. I hope not! Let's pray to Brynhild together that she doesn't get herself killed…

I glare at Líadan. "Are you deaf? I will not repeat for the thousandth time what is my part in this plan." I twist away from her grasp.

((Thanks rollz for wasting another awesome roll with silly stuff. Hah, a natural 20...))

((Wouldn't pulling out of her hold be a STR check?))

Líadan

"Regardless, it would have been nice to let the rest of us know the moment you left, rather than trying to slip away unnoticed." I tilt my head, frowning at her.

((Precedent: Burnbright escaped Sir Matthew's grasp using DEX to avoid a STR check. It's DEX to avoid, STR to overpower.))

"It's okay, Liadan. Mauve's going east to distract the enemy. She's very nimble—as you can see!—and I trust her distraction will work."

Though not in the way she intends if the spell fails, but why break her confidence at a time like this?

Nihal

Valar Lord
((She's not disputing STR, she's attempting to dodge/twist away. We have precedents, like when Burnbright jumped that table and tried to get away from Matthew to shoot the poor Darin. Anyway, if it was a STR check it is still a prime and a natural 20.))

((Sorry, I thought Nihal wanted someone to grab her, judging by her comment on the failed roll. My bad! ^^; And I still don't know what the formation is for the rest of us, since nobody answered Cadell's question.))
