I've been in 110˚F [44˚C] dry heat in Arizona. I loved it because I didn't sweat and I was wearing jeans. I loved it less when I saw how pink my face was. I normally don't wear sunblock, so I wasn't ready for that. Not the worst sunburn I ever got, but yeah… I'd rather sweat than burn.

PS- I like your new avatar.
Born and raised in Az, prefer 110 with 1-2% himidity over 90 with 80% humidity. (Survived 122 with 60% humidity in Greece)

Burnt my face last week, plus poison ivy in face. Miserable. (don't usually have to worry about the face, except I mowed in the morning, swimming in the afternoon, then volleyball in the evening. Face wasn't even use to that much sun in one day.)
Was previously immune to posion ivy, no longer. (Might suggest washing hands before and after going when working outside, poison is much worse down below.)

You are born that way.
Once you are allergic you are for life. Born immune, you can become allergic to it at anytime.
I was lucky....now I am not.

I was immune, too. Maybe I still am. I don't intend to find out.

The only times I knowingly exposed myself to a lot of it: (1) when I fell face down in a patch at the age of 10. I think I was swinging on a vine and the vine broke. Tarzan never had that problem, and he must be triple the weight of 10-year-old me. Come to think of it, I was emulating Pitfall Harry, not Tarzan. And… (2) …well, this is geeky, but so what? When I was 23, I was playing a LARP and my character was being hunted. I hid in a patch of poison ivy figuring no one would follow me there.

Sounds like fun times, LS. ^^;;

I don't recall if I've ever had poison ivy, but I've touched stinging nettles a time or two in the woods behind my grandpa's house. Not fun.

I wish I knew enough about Sir Matthew's situation to have him chime in -- like, does he serve a certain ruler, or is he more of a knight-errant? Unfortunately, that and other things were what I planned on having Cadell ask Matthew himself, when I figured Phietadix would still be playing him. :/

Well, swinging on a vine that breaks and landing in poison ivy thus discovering immunity is more fun than swinging on a vine that breaks and landing on a stone wall thus sandwiching rusty barbed wire between your leg and a solid rock. Guess which gets penetrated by the rusty barbed wire?

In other news, jet-lagged babies don't sleep well.

Good job in Act II, guys. Feel free to play it out however you like, as characters. Not much for me to do there, unless Branwen wants to interject herself into things. When you are all satisfied with the conclusion to Act II, feel free to post in the Act III thread and get things moving over there :)

Happy to jump into act III.

I'd like to assume we're bringing the six-legger's hide out with us. Also, some questions:

1) Berries - Baldy had 13 before I went on vacation. Because of a misunderstanding about how Goddberries are rolled (2d4 / no WIS check needed / 2 MP per attempt), they were never turned as far as I know. If Keit has magic before the rest time, I suggest she turns berries pre-rest. (I guess she has enough MP for 2 rolls, which might turn most of them).

2) What is Baldy's current HP? Or did the demon just revive us all to 1 HP?

Pretty sure the demon brought everyone it healed back to full HP.

Also, Phietadix hasn't answered my message yet, so shall I assume he's not returning? When should I have him announce that he's going to warn his order of the threat of Aeron? His horse is still in Srilkind, so he can't leave the party immediately in Act III.

I'm sure the demon wasn't exactly pleased about having to do that, but it was part of his end of the pact he made with Ankari. XD

He brought every unconscious character to full HP, but if the people standing were also healed I missed this detail. About the berries... wait, they weren't turned? Then we don't have 18 berries at the moment. >.<'

We have 13. The 18 that were turned were eaten before I went on vacation. (Keit ate 2 after turning them, Baldy and Darin and Matthew each had 5 after being shot by lizards who avoided Nissa's napalm attack, and I think Baldy gave Mauve 1 after she zapped herself trying to cast shield.)

But… if Baldy has full HP, screw resting! I mean for her… I'm all for MP recovery, studying scrolls, etc. Oh, and I'm also for not walking around like a zombie so I'll assume she gets some rest, just doesn't need the full 8 hours for the HP.

I could have her forage, if there's a place in one of the gates to do that. (Judging by act III text, going above ground to forage messes up the story—plus the gate's closer and full of happy trees.)

Yup, that's why Mauve slept a little but not that much. And I had her asking people to gather berries earlier, using the gate, No reason to do this only at the surface if you have a forest—warmer!—at hand.

I think Baldy, Ankari and Keit have class skills for gathering. Baldy's foraging skill is under Deerstalker.

I guess since ranged weapons are taboo for her religion, she had to pick a lot of berries just to kill a single deer. I figure she lured the deer into a trap by picking berries then leaving a trail. Lacking a trap-setting skill, the trap in this case was a hiding place where Baldy was smothered in berry juice so the deer couldn't catch her scent. It smelled what must surely be a bountiful seven-foot-(counting-the-hair)-tall berry bush… then—whack!—an axe to the head brings dinner and a Deerstalker badge on her Li'l Barbarians kilt. For dessert, starving birds found dead in the berry-less forest.

So, there you have it. Baldhart: master forager.

I imagine deerstalker as literally stalking a deer: You creep behind it and tada! Jump on it! I love the image of a big barbarian doing such thing.

Now Aliron allowed Mauve to try the spell, even failing she managed to learn some things about this one, didn't she? If the target is self or not, the type of energy used and the level, by how much mana was spent.

I think when the party gets back to Srilkind, it will be a good time for Matthew to separate from the group, going to warn his order of what he has learned of Aeron.
