Akumaru, you still need to roll three times to make sure Marius actually makes it across the river before you try to run after the orc. I wasn't even sure he'd tried to cross the river before running until I reread your orc-shooting post a couple of times.

Yeah, rogues and assassins climb climbable things automatically. Only need to check when it is something that is otherwise impossible to climb. Besides that Steerpike said:

Marius manages to cross the river with little difficulty, reaching the far side around the same time as Bressel climbs onto the far bank with Branwen.

Excellent arrow shot but distance and foliage caught the arrow.

Maybe we'll be eating spotted owl for lunch. When you shoot arrows willy nilly in the forest, Mother Nature loses another spotted owl, and some tears. But they sure taste good. Like chicken. With spots.

So I rolled pretty well with DEX for Cadell to catch the orc, but do I need a further check with that or STR to hold it? Just want to know before I roll again and/or post.

You can roll STR this next round if the orc tries to get away again. Cadell will have some help as well.

The orc rolled a 1 on his STR check, so Cadell doesn't even have to roll. A natural 1 is a complete fail

Awesome. XD And he rolled a dang good CHA check to convince the orc to trust him and not run, so we'll see what happens. I saw an excellent CHA roll from Nissa in the room too. I think we've got the orc well in hand. ^^

He's wherever you left him last. Probably still on the side of the river everybody else has crossed by now.

I asked Steerpike to roll for me so I'm wasn't sure if he had or not.

I don't think he did. Maybe in-character Zoran got distracted somehow and is only now catching up. You can roll to have him cross the river, though it'll probably be a few turns before he catches up with the group.

Hey guys - was traveling this weekend. Anyone who wants to post before the update, I'll be updating the thread when I get home from work this evening.

Note on water damage from crossing the river - I'm going to assume that armor, clothing, and weapons can be suitably cared for by the party members. There are checks you can make for damage to such items after they get wet like this, but I don't think we need to use them for a quick river crossing, and everyone is attending to their possessions quickly. You guys can RP taking care of your equipment however you like.

The only exception are unprotected books and papers. Unless they were in waterproof containers, they're going to be soaked through.
