Valar Lord
First time I have been able to check back.
Busy weeks.
One marriage done, one to go. Then the big send off of my youngest to Washington state.
437 pics from the first wedding to edit, then again for the next.

I will try to check back soon.

Ok, a new update is up!

Should be back on track now. Last Friday, the 4th, the Federal Court granted our motion to stay the case. It's basically on hold until at least next April. After a couple of months of 12-15 hours days, I took the three day weekend and headed for the mountains, so I was pretty much out of touch :)

Tuesday and yesterday I spent getting all of my other work organized (the work that has taken a back seat to this court case), and I woke up this morning on something resembling my normal schedule from before July.

So...there's a post up. If I've missed anything, let me know. I may need to sit down and go over my notes given the extended "vacation" from the game!

I'll post more later, but I need a clarification for Nissa.
He half turns to Nissa. "Not to compare you to a goblin," he says in a low voice. "Some of you saw the group that came into town, and I'm sure the rest of you have heard of them. Tell me they aren't fighters."
I'm not sure what group Conal is referring to.

@Ireth, I tried to keep Baldy's words short (for her) in case Liadan as anything to add/say.

I'm not sure what group Conal is referring to.

Oh, he was telling his men not to underestimate Nissa due to her size, and using goblins as an example of creatures smaller in stature but who can still fight. Then realized Nissa might be offended by the comparison.

Ah, okay… so it's the men, not Nissa, who would have seen the goblins. Conal might notice Nissa's not at all offended. She addresses the doubtful looks, hoping to instill some confidence. Her goal—though I'm going from memory here—is to get to camp and gather the rest.

I believe only Baldhart and Liadan know (thanks to Callan) that there are orcs who work for Aslaug hunting down those who won't serve her. Nissa mentioned the possibility of a peaceful resolution, only because of her encounter with Tarlack. He mentioned orcs, gnolls and goblins as races targeted by Aslaug, and Nissa assumes that even the gnolls and orcs are loyal out of fear. Despite having been killed by an orc, she'd likely attempt to initiate a conversation.

New player joining - AkamaruGames. Please give a welcome. He'll be making his first post soon.

@LegendarySidekick - yes, I think that's right about Baldhart and Liadan. Everyone in the area knows there are orcs and bandits bothering Ballara, but not everyone knows that there is dissension in the ranks and Aslaug's orcs are hunting others down.

Yay! I wonder what character class he'll play. Fighter, wizard or thief?

Looking forward to the new party member. (Any chance he'll help subdue and/or kill that angry orc?)

I've left it up to him to decide whether he wants to be in Ballara or along the road where Zoran is fighting. Those are the two places he'd most likely encounter the party, since he wouldn't be likely to stumble across the camp or find Baldhart, Liadan, and Callan as they're headed through the woods back toward the rest of the group.

:: waves :: Look forward to playing with you guys. I went with the road since listening to inspiring speeches didnt sound like my character's thing. Hopefully I don't die at the hands of an orc (I tend to have bad luck in first combats).

Welcome to the game.

I'm going to give people a bit more time to post, since we're just back after an extended hiatus. There will be an update today. In the meantime, I'm going to catch up on everything else that has been sidelined for two months.

Welcome, Akamaru! I'm glad you joined the battle. My characters are too far away from the action, so they can only to talkie stuff. Inspiring? Well, we'll see how the locals react. Nissa either charms everyone or is accused of being a demon. Maybe the locals flip coins, too.

@Philster… you may need a WIS check to see if you can patch up the orc's wounds, then try talking when he wakes up (preferably bound). He might be dead though.

Of course, you'll need to see how your attack against the running orc played out first.

My character is a functionally autistic rogue named Marius Edger. He doesn't really understand how to deal with people socially (and is often confused by what to him seems to be their seemingly nonsensical reactions), but is good at doing what he needs to do. Decision making is also difficult for him (partially due to his condition, but mostly due to an aversion to the consequences of willfully making the incorrect choice), so he often makes decisions based on chance (using coins or dice) or through what an average person might consider to be unorthodox logic.

Abandoned by his parents as a baby due to his condition, he somehow survived on the streets by relying on picking pockets and the occasional kindness of strangers to survive. Having heard tales of adventurers who delve forgotten tombs and emerge with untold riches, he has recently saved up enough to get himself some armor and weaponry and has decided to find a group to offer his skills to.
