Just for fun, here's some (watermarked) art I'm doing for Roll20. Baldhart's the first character I'm drawing, mostly because I want to start with a tall character so I can establish the height of the 280x280 pixel box.

I have never understood a character so much at one moment then this scene now.

Just had to post this after news today. I kind of feel like this. Not that its funny, when it all happens so close together.
Arya after learning her Aunt died. (after all the rest of her adult family)

My Aunt died this morning.

I'm sorry to hear about another loss in your family. Is your aunt on your father's side of the family?

I also had losses close together many years ago. Not weeks apart, but three grandparents in a 14-month time frame. My brother and I considered ourselves "funeral candy aficionados." And that third grandparent funeral was on the Irish side of the family. It really was the stereotypical Irish wake with more laughter than tears, but in a way that was still respectful. So I definitely get what you're saying with that Arya scene.

I haven't forgotten you guys (honestly). I just wasn't getting in until very late and having to get up early to get back to it. No time for anything, except Monday, which I took as a vacation day and was out away from computers all day.

I spent the vacation day in Vegas with my daughter. We went to Cirque Du Soleil. Here she is posing as we walked over to the show:

Working on a quick update now. Going to be without a map. I have to get back into the office this morning, after spending all yesterday there :/ We've got two big lawsuits going on where we have deadlines to respond. Work would be a lot more pleasant if it weren't for the clients!

I know how you feel. I'm not sure which word to replace "clients" with for my job.

"Bureaucrats."

Well, that didn't take long.

So far, it looks like Team Ireth did a lot of damage. Cadell and Liadan both rolled 16 to hit and 7 damage.

For Baldhart, she has a 19 for the grapple (weak for her), and intimidate in case the other guy rolls 20 when resisting. The rag with sleep poison is meant to speed up her sleeper hold.

Yeah, Cadell and Liadan downed the second drow, and Baldhart has the first one. Might not be much of a fight :)

My STR check sucked. I forgot I had a roll readied (a 15), but how about we go with the 12 and say the struggle was too great, meaning Baldhart can't perform any move, and she needs to drop the sleep rag.

(I felt like a precise action such as stuffing a rag in the guy's mouth needed a check.)

Since that basically ends the turn, and I assume no one's going to shoot the guy Baldy's pinning, I thought I'd just roll the next turn now. I guess if the guy bolts because of the failed STR check, Baldy can easily catch up to grab him since he's got nowhere to run.

Okay. If they want to question the guy, there's time for that as long as he's going to remain slack and let Baldhart hold him overhead at the balcony's edge.

Is anyone else planning to question the drow? Baldhart doesn't plan on keeping him in that position for long, but if no one's interested I won't drag this out beyond the next GM post. (I rolled the readied attack damage, but am waiting for SP to confirm whether the roll is legal, since I factored in fall damage but am not sure if I should have.)

We've got XP coming--I don't want to hold that up!

Totally random, and totally catchy:

@SP, I think I forgot to add parchment on my Google Doc, but I'm pretty sure that was among the items Gisla let her part with. I think she's using charcoal to write.

Should we say Baldy got 10 sheets of parchment? 9 left, or 8 if Tarlack can use one? (Or less, if Baldy needed 2-3 pages?)

I would've had her crumple the parchment if she failed her "penmanship check." I love having charisma as a prime, even if aside from the siren song, my CHA checks have been useless and voluntary.

You could have asked Cadell for parchment and ink; he's had some in his pack the whole time. Though admittedly I had to check his equipment list before I posted. XD

@Ireth,

Sorry Baldy's last post was such a conversation killer. It occurred to me (in post 505) that Baldhart's the only one who knows of a human caravan. I figured since her conversation triggered that memory for me, it might do the trick for her. I figured at that point, she might be at least wondering why she intended to make a hasty exit, and Nissa (having spent seven years "in her head") figured it's time to get Dalla and Biorn--which she can do quickly if flying alone.

In the next post, as soon as she mentioned "Mother's diplomacy lesson" I thought, yeah, at this point she can't possibly forget that Tarlack told her of a human caravan and the rest of the party doesn't know that.
