I didn't realize it was going up a web until this post.

I think Bressel saved and he is mad now. :banghead: If he can reach the shooter, he will impress upon him his frustration at being hit by a crossbow.
Aliron 3 out 4 hits with the poisoned arrows, one left.

Future action is backstab or sneak attack depending on the altitude of his target. Maybe I can stick the soft underbelly of the female spider carapace? Aliron might need a bath after that.

"Hey, Baldhart, things are looking up for you.":bounce:

oh, ok. Thought the spider had cast a web and was climbing up, rather then just standing up.

Spider can do alot while someone is choking the life out of it and unable to speak.
change forms and levitate.

I thought the spider was crawling up a web (and appeared to be floating). I'll play it up that Baldhart assumes spider woman slung a web and climbed up, since from her vantage point that kinda makes sense. Baldhart was expecting a spider-woman, even before she saw the card! (These casters and their crazy transformations!) But of course she has no idea what a spider-woman can do.

(Whatever a spider can.)

If you check the grapple thread, there's a link on post #1. According to that, casters can cast while being grappled, though maybe only certain spells. It's possible that Baldy's grappling is preventing her from throwing explosions around like deflated footballs.

(Patriots is the home-team where I am, and yet I'm the one who did that.)

Also, I've been waiting for light so Baldy could use intimidate! Don't know if it'll help my low roll, or if it'll be like last time where the d20 was low in the CHA check then high in the grapple check, but what the heck?

In this particular case, the form changing and levitation are innate abilities of the creature, so she doesn't have to cast anything - it's just a mental process. Were she to cast a spell with verbal components, which most of them have, the choke hold would either prevent it or at least raise the difficulty of her spell check to reflect that she's being choked.

Ugh i hate lock-picking... Also Balhart might be dead from fall damage either way if we win or lose at this point if she goes all the way up...

Hoping Keit can somehow save her by tying the spider in place with roots. And maybe catching Baldhart with them too. >.<

Does anyone know which of the four Drows is asleep? Also are there any Drows close enough for me to charge or at least attack? Also has anyone been damaged?

@Philster. The two closest crows are exactly in charge range. (Counting every other diagonal as 2, it's 12 to the bottom drow. The upper one looks about the same distance.)

You can charge. It's +2 to your attack roll. Your AC drops by 4, but that likely won't make a difference.

The only attack you need to worry about is magic, if Baldhart loses the grapple hold next GM round. (This is more likely than not. 35% chance of success; 45% if intimidate works. If she wins the hold, the enemy needs a CON save!) Even then, Zoran probably won' the the caster's target.

hit: 1d20+1+2+STR
damage: 1d10+STR (bastard sword)

+1 is the base-to-hit for a level 2 charisma-class character.
+2 is what you add to the roll when charging. (You might have the guy's back, but SP decides if you get that bonus.)

If you have 9-12 in STR, then the STR mod is zero.
If you ended up putting 13 in STR, then hit: 1d20+1+2+1 / damage: 1d10+1

I think your AC is 19 with the charge penalty! (In stark contrast, Baldhart's AC is 6 when she charges.)

@Phil, silly me. Charge north. I was counting squares on the map to see who you could charge, but in fact the south-side drow is dead. The northernmost drow is asleep. The two closer ones are fair game, though the one on the right (closest to Zoran) might be the less messy choice with four fighters charging at once.

There are only two males left, all occupied. If Baldhart falls off the caster… um… just don't be near where she'll land in case of area-of-effect spells. If anyone pissed off he caster a lot, it's Baldhart!

Looks good to me. 18 hit, 6 damage. (Maybe 19-20 if you got a flank/rear bonus, but an 18 should hit anyway.)

I guess you had some text in the roll, but at least it's obvious that it's a natural 14, and only 3 pts. of your bonuses added up in the roll.

Doesn't look like Bressel or Zoran are in charge range this round. They can both make it all the way to their targets and be ready to attack next round, or if they want to charge next round they can get into charging distance this round. You can move your full movement and still attack in the same round, and although you can move up to 4 times your movement if you run, you can't attack in the same round.
