Only reason i didn't have Batos jump off was cuz LS said Tarlack might die from fall damage. Ik it was a joke but still. ^^ Better safe than sorry,a nd if we're lucky the kobolds will be rallied and attack the drow.

I think that was a good play (Batos' howl/intimidation), but yeah... the joke was my mental picture of Batos leaping off the balcony and Tarlack panicking, falling off his mount, and dying (from fall damage) right in the middle of that crowd of kobolds.

Fall damage, under the written rules, is pretty brutal in C&C :)

I got to work a few moments ago, and I'm going to try to update the thread over my lunch break. So far, it looks like I should have a normal lunch break.

Pretty devistating in real life too.
As an EMT-b, helicopter ride for any fall 10 foot or higher. (or a roll over crash).
That is a life flight helicopter ride, critical-life threatening injuries possible.

D&D is pretty light with fall damage. 1d6 per 10' fall isn't enough. (20d6 max.really? 250ft fall gets the same as 200?)

What is fall damage in C&C?

Wow, found this. Don't think its usable for writing, but for quick dungeon maps, I also like you can do 10'sq, 5'sq, or hex.

Might have to make an adventure and see how it works. Dave's Mapper | RPG Map Generator

Even more interesting that the work computer didn't block it: Game content.

I found a site, they say 1d6 per 10' cum. 1d6-10ft, 3d6-20ft{1d6(10ft)+2d6(20ft)} 6d6 for 30'(3+2+1)
deadly falling damage.

Yeah, SP clarified the fall damage before when Baldhart climbed the 100-foot rope. Fortunately, he also explained that I'd only fall if I failed that target roll by 5 points; otherwise, I wouldn't have made the climb.

I also consider fall damage when having Nissa fly. I'm not sure what happens when she's hit in midair, so firebombing elves with crossbows and magic might be risking instant death. Yeah… I'm glad she's just doing good old fashioned swordplay. (I say that even knowing she might get hurt this turn.)

Awesome battle... But I thought Cadell and Liadan were shooting from the right door (post 321). I was a bit unclear with Anissa, but she attacked the guy on the left in the group of 3 males. (I just posted "guy on the left" so I can see how I caused confusion there.) The guy who cast darkness was the only one that was not attacked (or threatened by a big wolf).

I'm not sure if Cadell and Liadan's positioning would hit the caster or not, and Baldhart's actions will be the same even if the mage is <1 HP so I'll post when I have time.

What might change is the guy that follows Baldhart. Nissa is attacking from directly above him, and she's basically facing north so if the guy does back up step to get a better look at her, his back is against the slab.

Seeing how I just did some real-life grappling (taking down a student who was throwing wild punches), I'm definitely in the right mood for posting a grapple check. Good thing Baldhart's opponent is stunned... I think my real-life grappling was more effective than my d20 grapple!

Liadan and Cadell followed Bressel in, thats where I figured they were south.

I was hoping to have one additional round to attack before lights went out.

I think the person you are focused on when the lights go out is still a pretty clear target in your mind, even more so if they can't move. I think the drow don't know where to move, so they should be close to where they were when it went dark for this round at least. Aliron is thinking they will flee north, that is why he moved to where he did.
Aliron was focused on the caster, but she is knocked down and Bladhart is near, so he had no target he focused on for a second shot.

Thats why I kept Bressel going for the same person, and land marks(Cage and table) would keep him close to where he needed to be. He announced his position so no one would stumble into his sword path. The attackers were focused on him, so didn't give himself away too much. (He waited until the last of his move, hoping the attacker behind would strike fast and hit the other drow in the darkness.)

I figured NIssa could fly above and watch for anyone trying to escape.

Friendly strikes are the reason Aliron didn't rush in. To many people in the darkness means more people to get hit accidently. Aliron has moved and is quiet, so if they try a shot in the dark, he won't be where they think he is. (He yelled as he was moving, so the last of his move was silent.)

Bressel(swinging 2handed sword), Baldhart(laying down), and Massama(fists) are in the mix, anyone else? Nissa is above the action. So far I think we are safe from accidently hitting each other.
Zoran fired at the caster, but didn't say what he was doing after. So when it went dark I believe he was outside the darkness. In my post, I said the east was open, but that is where Zoran is.
Forgot about baltos and kobolds, Baltos was after the drow that was coming after Bressel, the kobolds were uncertain, so I expect the ones in the dark will probably flee into the light and muster there. They saw their leader rushing into fight, but they might need another round to decide to join, but they might not want to rush back into the darkness.
So Baltos would be in the darkness, I think the wolf could attack the drow without wondering into sword range of Bressel.

This is the one time a large sword could be a problem. Everyone else is using hand to hand or teeth, kobold leader might use a bladed weapon, but its not got an exceptional reach.
Baldhart and witch are a tripping hazard for the blind drow(and us, but I don't think anyone is close)
If Aliron can't see into the dark, then without some other magic, the drow won't be able to see through the dark either, unless it is a hallucination or illusion.

Oh... well if Cadell and Liadan are where SP said, then it's me who's confused. Considering the day I've had, that's not at all surprising. I also overlooked the last line of the GM post, which is why Nissa was telling the children to do something they're already doing. (Whoops!)

So, @SP, if you don't mind, I ret-conned my Nissa play since the kids are already crying out (as she was asking them to do in my original post). I have her following the voices to the cage now, as her #1 priority is for one of us to get to the children before a drow does.

(Since I rolled a natural 1 for her "blind swing" sword attack, let's say whatever physical action she'd have used to try breaking the kids out gets that 1.)

No, they followed Baldhart.
Oh, I see where I got the idea you followed Bressel:

Cadell and Liadan fire from behind Bressel,
SP's post. He meant behind Baldhart. (Post 331)

So Cadell and LIadan are East, so the only path without someone waiting to block escape is south, but Baltos and Bressel have come from that way, also a whole bunch of kobolds. So I think we are still ok.
I think we only have one male that is not engaged.

Bressel has one, Baltos has one, Massama has one, Baldhart has the female. 4 drow and drow witch. I think the one that did darkness is the one that isn't engaged.

Not changing Aliron's shout, not sure if they could hear me or not. Seats to seat opposite side.

Well, we'll see if a ret-con adds damage to the female drow. In any case, the room is blackened because the middle guy who cast darkness was not attacked.

It's interesting that Masama's momentum carried him forward. His position is a good thing as far as Baldhart is concerned. If anyone hits her or the witch during the choke, the witch gets to breathe… but with the witch on top, she's more likely to take the hit from a blind swing.

I was going to have Baldhart say something, but she doesn't want to give away her relative position to the caster. She's assuming the drow can't see in the darkness… or hoping!

Sadly, all rolls from the other roller aren't showing on my work computers.

Was going to post damages on the enemy, but can't add them up, since I don't know what they are.

I think the witch has 20 and is stunned this round,
drow #1 might have 7 damage (19 is a good role, but minuses for the darkness)
Drow#2(Baltos) undamaged,
Drow 3: unengaged
Drow 4: Massama undamaged.

End of second round, Witch hurt bad, possibly one male drow injured,
No injuries our side.

Aaand Cadell and Liadan have nothing to do now, since they can't see any enemies and don't dare shoot into the darkness for fear of hitting allies. And I think the kobolds might be on our side if Tarlack convinces them, so no shooting at them either. :/

The witch was hit for 23 damage. Zoran hit. Cadell and Liadan would have brought that number to 32, but I'm not sure if correcting the position makes a difference.

Nissa hit her target for 5 damage.
