What/who are the kobolds though. Also did any one look at post 5657 because no one answered my question and if they are some how related to them I could have tracked them there.

I also wanted to know if it would have been possible for me to get in/right-outside amphitheatre without having met rest of group and not having been seen by enemies?

Do we know anything about the children's parents maybe they sent me there? (I'm just rambling out ideas /questions for more information so I can figure out why.)

Inquisition = witch-burners. They claim to follow Tyr (and my guess is that many do sincerely, but are misled into evil) and burn magic-users, or those accused, thinking the ritual purifies souls. It doesn't. The ritual's purpose is to use the souls to give a demon power.

Dark Elves = maybe not the race as a whole, but those we know of serve the demon. The child-heart-eating ritual serves the same purpose as witch-burning, but with no pretense. The dark elves know they serve a demon, and innocent souls are the catalyst in their ritual.

Kobolds = enslaved by dark elves. Baldhart swore to her goddess that she'd free them from the dark elves in exchange for their help rescuing the children. So far, both parties are holding their end of the bargain. (Technically, Baldhart only spoke for herself, but she swore to Brynhild, so she has to keep her word.)

It seems unlikely you'd be in the tunnels without having known there was trouble in the area. We saw smoke from a burning barn from very far away, and the only obvious entrance that we know of is guarded. I'd just pick from SP's 2 options, whichever one you prefer. (If it were me, I'd take #1 and follow the no-battle entrance. Fighting your way in alone would be suicidal. You'd have no way to prevent darkness from being cast, making it impossible to see your enemy.)

EDIT - ANSWERING ABOVE POST: They're orphans, and the caretaker, Miss Liv, was found dead at the farmhouse. Dalla and Biorn are at the farmhouse, so they could have asked you to help and led you into the safe entrance.

What if I got to the farm house before you guys got there, before Miss Liv died, but after kids taken, she told me where they went so I headed towards tunnels then took back route in amphitheatre, and had planned on waiting until enemies fell asleep but, I heard a commotion so I decided to head towards amphitheatre now, instead of later, I don't know what would happen after that though.
Also I'm still wondering if dark elves have anything to do with inquisition because it would give my character a reason to have been in area in first place.

I would have known there were enemies but what I had meant was that I figured away to get close enough without fighting.

EDIT clarifying your second to last statement

Questions:

#1 - The 15' drop: can we hang on then let go to avoid fall damage?
#2 - Are there stairs on all fours sides?
#3 - Can we quickly access other doors by going around?
#4 - If yes to #3, is it the same distance to get to the left and right doors from outside the room?
#5 - Can big characters stay low and move slowly to avoid detection in the bench area?
#6 - Do we see the kobolds? (I mean the ones who don't yet know of Tarlack's freedom.)

1. Yes, you can drop down without being injured.
2. There are stairs on all four sides.
3. & 4. You can get to any of the other doors exiting the room, and they're equally spaced so the left and right doors are equal distaince.
5. Given the height you're at, anyone in the party could sneak around the upper level by staying low. Staying quiet might be harder for some.
6. You don't see the kobolds, from where you're at there is a good third or more of the lower area you can't see, and there could certainly be kobolds there.

You don't know enough about the enemies to know if they're somehow aligned with the inquisition, but it seems doubtful given that the inquisition is not only fairly xenophobic but also have a fanatic stance against magic.

It's not likely a character would already be there ahead of time except as a captive. The drow have had guards at the main entrance, which is why the party wasn't able to go in that way. The other entrance was known only to the kobolds, and even going that way you'd have had to get through the kobolds as well as the drow guards to get to the amphitheater area. You could have happened upon the hidden entrance after the party went through, though.

We arrived the day after the kids were taken. That, and this intro story would mean your paladin just sat there hiding while a little girl was being stabbed in the heart. I'm sure that's not the first impression you want your character to make!

Like I said, just pick from one of SP's two options. I think he was trying to come up with options that require the least amount of explanation.

@SP Okay then I guess that could work, well is it possible that dark elves know anything about inquisition, or is a backstory with inquisition not a good idea, I'm not sure how big of a group the inquisition is. I'm basically just running my background information from what LS has told me about them.

@Phil, I like your backstory idea. Being an enemy of the Inquisition is cool.

@SP, I've got a post ready, but I'm not sure if I should hold off a bit. The post assumes Baldhart can silently signal the kobolds back into the hall. She's not confident she can whisper in the seating area without calling attention to the party.

@SP why doesn't it show if your on or offline? Is this on purpose, if so it can be kind of frustrating b/c I don't know if you are on or off.

@SP, one more question:

Can Nissa simply pick up a torch that's already lit, since they're all over the map? Are there lit torches along the edge of the bench area, or only at the bottom area?

The follow-up: can she swoop to a torch, grab it, then drop the torch and oil in one turn? (It's almost a 60' move, so it is about all of her movement.)

EDIT - Nissa won't fire-bomb… unless of course the caster conjures or transforms into a horrible thing that changes the nature of the fight.

I think Baldhart is clear enough, but here's what her desired outcome looks like:

DecapitatedHeadDesired.png

green = male drow
red = female drow
yellow = Mauve and archers
blue = fighters (dark blue = start position; light blue = impact position)

I wasn't going to have Baldhart charge the caster originally, but when she saw only three guys, that changed her mind. Her thought is that the caster might have a means to resist arrows (seeing how Baldhart has an item and a skill that let her do that), so she's the back-up plan.

Well… of course she hopes the arrows won't finish the caster so she can stun, choke out, and kill. But if the caster has enough HP to withstand several shots, I think we'll all be rooting for Baldhart to not miss the stun attack.

(@SP, I'll try not to forget to type #STUN when I roll, but if it's a charge roll vs. the caster, I definitely intend to use the monk's stun skill.)

Aliron prefers to be alone, definately not with the new person.
Aliron will use heartbow and a poisoned arrow on the caster.

Bressel will try to charge if there is room, male drow-west to east number-2 drow, he will hit and pivot towards number 3.(to get everyone facing east away from Aliron.)
So someone needs to hit number 1, #3 will be people attacking from east.

Stairs will be a bunch up point, try not to get to close together at the stairs.

Aliron will decide on his next action by what the targets do. He might shoot again or he might move in to engage from behind. Thought about a sneak attack, but he has to get within 30ft to use it with the bow. That would be way to close here.
What is the distance from the back row to the female? Am I in range? Would it be a difficult shot due to range? (for normal bow shot not heartbow.)

Are the doors to the amphitheater able to be blocked, locked?

Severin, I think after the first heart-bow shot, you'll be able to move closer, then shoot.

If Baldhart lands her stun attack, you won't need to shoot the caster twice. Her plan is stun-choke-kill. (Maybe not a brain-gouge-though-eye-sockets this time.) If the caster gets hit by high-rolling arrows, maybe Baldhart will charge a corpse... but you never know when a pretty lady will turn into a giant half-woman-half-snake/-spider/-gigahen.

@LS: Swooping down to pick up a torch, then fly over it to drop it on people, would take two rounds. Picking it up is a standard action, and movement + std action is a round.

@Severin you could block the amphitheater doors from outside the amphitheater, since they open outward.

@Philster I have my settings set so that it doesn't show I'm online. This is because I'm normally logged in all day while I'm at work, even though I'm not at my computer, which raises two issues: 1) people chat me thinking I'm online, but I'm not at the computer so they think I'm ignoring them; and 2) I get too many chat requests while I'm working that I can't respond to. So I set it to invisible.

OK, there's action in the game thread :) If anyone wants to add anything or update their actions, I'll be making a post this evening to move the battle forward. Just have to wait until I'm off work.

Aliron also doesn't like that the paladin was able to get close to the group without him hearing, to focused on saving the kids.

moved to other thread

Just to let Philster know, Aliron only introduced himself to the original group and only to a few of them, I think Baldhart was one of the original he introduced himself too. Bressel is friendly to most.

do we have a pic for the paladin to use in the battle? (I'd hate for Aliron to shoot and accidently hit him thinking he was a drow. :D)
