I was in Writing Mode, so I'll admit I basically jumped on the site between paragraphs, saw the DE thread was updated, read the GM post quickly and only paid attention to details that Baldy was worried about (#1: a child's cry; #2: Tarlack just to hold her end of the deal).

It seems clear enough that there are multiple cells. I think it's two on each side, plus one at the end, and the larger kobold is not Tarlack, but a prisoner opposite the child Baldy's trying to talk to. I believe the door at the end of the hall is Tarlack's cell, and the only direction elves can come from is behind us (where I believe Bressel is watching, and it's possible the enemy would be spotted by Ankari before getting to us).

In any case, I deleted Nissa's looking action since there's no need for it.

Oh, my mistake LS. I thought you were trying to break the bars on the door at the end of the hall, where Skivver pointed to Tarlack. That's the one that has the kobold leaping up to the door. I'll clarify everything in my update, but yes that's Tarlack and the cell to the right of it has children. No sounds from the other cells.

Baldy was trying to break the cell where the child is crying. If that's impossible, then your GM post still works, I think.

If Baldy was unable to break the door, she simply tries to speak to the child.

Yeah...that's right. My post isn't clear in terms of the transition to the second door. I can see that looking back and reading it. Baldy is at the door to the kid's cell, Tarlack is in the one at the end, which is next to it. Soon to be clarified :)

The ugly thief is trying to hide the ugly elfen harpy from the kids, at least for the short term.

[one question, have we not gotten experience since April? (last post in that thread) Cause Aliron is only 295 pts from 4th.
Maybe we all could use some experience?]

I suppose if the kids Branwen's wings, how big a deal is that. Nissa's not bothering to hide.

(I'll wait until confirmation that the door's open before having Nissa post, since she likely wouldn't be seen by the kids while the door is closed.)

It's open.

As for XP, I was viewing the farm house/ dark elves as a single, broad encounter and was going to give out XP afterward, but since we have people close I'll go back and figure the XP for the initial skirmishes, finding the lair and the alternate entrance, etc.

3-5-14, 7:24 PM Updates to the thread and PM coming soon. In the mean time, everyone should give themselves 1175 XP for progression of the story, thwarting the fish demons, fighting alongside gnolls to protect Arendal, and so on.
We have been slow, we finished the town battle in March?

Aliron gets sneak attack with 4th level. +2,+4. When opponent isn't expecting an attack.

Bressel needs almost 10x that to get to 3rd. (2100exp)

Ah, yes… a year ago marks the last time Baldhart swung her sword, and Batos nearly sacrificed his own life! I remembered a lot about that battle, except for the spider. I totally forgot about the spider.

Hey cats - should be updating both XP and the thread tonight. I've been swamped with last-minute deadlines. Sorry about that.

Yay for XP!

I want all my XP going into monk skills, of course, but would there ever be the option of going up a level in barbarian?

This is probably being asked strictly out of curiosity. I think Baldhart is still barbaric as she's ever been (if not more)—so I mean I don't think of her as having "quit" being a barbarian, but I doubt I'd opt to slow monk progression just to finish up that 3rd barbarian level-up. Leveling monk to 3 increases damage and adds a "magic weapon" effect to bare knuckle attacks, whereas leveling barbarian to 3 just means I intimidate two enemies at a time.

Woo, XP! Unfortunately, I'm still having trouble accessing Google Docs, so I can't update my character sheet there, and I have no idea what levels my characters will be at. Makes rolls hard to keep track of. :/

So how does that go to change class? (Not considering it for either Aliron or Bressel.)
She is a 2nd level Barbarian, does the experience since level 2 shift to monk and becomes a 2nd level monk and a 2nd level barbarian or will it continue up to a 3rd level monk?
Barbarian 2101 exp monk-1900 exp. level;2/2
or Baldhart has 4001exp. level 3

Just in case someone else wants to change careers.

Oh yeah i meant to ask: how do we manage points in our select skills (STR, WIS, INT, etc) when we level up? how many points do we get to spend on our skills per level?

Ooohhhh i remember that. I can imagine having to deal with being just Batos if Keit dies, but i cant think of what would happen if he died.

Sorry, got home too late last night. The XP calculation came out a little low, but I bumped it up to 300. Online games move slow as it is, so I'm glad to see at least one character level now. Maybe more will if they live through the dark elves.

Your stats/skills stay the same throughout the game. It's your base to-hit bonus that gets better. See the Classes thread.
