With the flexible timeline, I'm not sure how much head start Mauve has, but I rolled WIS (prime) for Nissa before realizing Mauve handed off the band-aids then darted after the lizard.
I think it still works, as it makes sense Nissa would prioritize the wounded. I don't see a servant of the battle-goddess not backing Mauve up though, even though the enemy is weak. I think with the ability to move quickly in flight, she'd feel she's shirking her responsibility to let Mauve handle the chase alone.
