Arendal vs. Arendell

I just watched Frozen with the girls today. The story takes place in Arendell, and I couldn't help but make comparisons to Arendal. Besides the names being near homophones, here are 10 similarities:

1. The location is seaside.
2. An important, revered and beloved man of Arendal/ell dies before his time. (The King / Fr. Geralt)
3. An unmarried woman is now in charge of Arendal/ell. (Queen Elsa / Gisla)
4. The townspeople fear magic.
5. It's snowing!
6. There is a woman who is immune to the cold weather. (Queen Elsa / Baldhart)
7. She's dangerous without a weapon. (Queen Elsa / Baldhart)
8. Her protector is not nearly as powerful, but is brave enough to sacrifice herself and looks cute in braided pigtails. (Princess Anna / Nissa)
9. The magic user tries to distance herself from those who attempt to befriend her. (Queen Elsa / Mauve)
10. The villain earns (almost) everyone's trust, and genuinely acts trustworthy until it's time for him to strike. (Prince Haans / Ghendra)

Heh. That's cool, Legendary Sidekick. I have yet to see the movie, but I'll watch for those references.

Update coming today, regardless of whether we get more posts or not. Looks like the most regular members have all now posted.

Baldhart chastises my efforts. I can't blame her. Where did my strength go on that swing? I replace my Axe at my hip and climb up. If the fish demon still lives, I'll see what I can do for Ghendra.
@Ankari,

Baldhart was referring to Ghendra needing help since he's facing two enemies at once. (Though she honestly could care less if the knoll gets ripped to shreds—even less than I care about auto-correct spelling gnoll with a 'k.') He's on the same ledge, so no rope is needed to get to him.

I thought I was down by the sea and Ghendra was on a cliff above. If not, I'll just help Ghendra. Can I get a clarification so I can attack if it's the latter?

Thanks, Ankari. Something just came up here and I'm going to be tied up on the phone. If I don't finish the map I'll finish it in the morning or maybe just post without it for the next post, since no one is over fighting the fish demons on it yet. Be back shortly I hope.

Hey guys - got called away from the computer last night because my dad is back in the hospital again. The update is about 3/4 complete. I'll get back to it here shortly.

A double-kill for Baldy if these guys have 6 HP like I think they do. (Thanks to Ankari for ridding one of 1 HP.)

If I can't hit two different targets with a dual attack, well, I'm already happy that neither missed. That's for you, SP. A break from having to oppose my grapple checks. I'd have used intimidate, but I think Baldy's flanking her targets. Even though a 13 hits head on, I know where my head was when I rolled the attacks. Charge, and keep the element of surprise.

EDIT - The math: 1d20+3+1+2-3 (+STR+BtH+charge-dual) and +3+1+2-6 (second hit)

I rolled both d20s before rolling damage so I wouldn't forget to edit my bonus from +3 to +0. That's why the first damage roll has the "both hit!" message.

Hey LS - I forgot to mention, the two fish demons were too far apart to use your attack on both targets last round. They were on either side of a very large gnoll. Had they been next to one another, you could have done it.

That's fine. I wasn't sure, but it was fun to chance a double-punch in any case. I want to try using those often to see if I can level her dual penalty. Grappling works fine, but I figure if I'm committing Baldy to unarmed combat, I should give her more to do then just throw enemies—especially considering not all can be thrown.

Just curious, how many squares can we move in a turn? Hall seems a bit far from the enemies, and he didn't specify running toward them. Awesome attack roll and damage, though!

With a 6-square movement, he can easily reach the one near Cadell. (Of course, if that's who Liadan shot, he's likely dead.)

Baldy can move 7 squares, unlike the rest of you slowpokes!

I have no idea how fast a flying Nissa is.

Now I'm curious… does that attack roll act as a readied action if he can't reach an enemy? If so, would he end up attacking the next enemy to reach him?

I have seen no better time to use heartbow then this time. So many people in front of him, and a clean line of sight between the buildings. Aim a little high the arrow curves down and strikes true.
Aliron has alot of bonuses but to strike a friend by accident-bad,
to strike a Gnoll-even worse, for they wouldn't believe it was an accident.

So the leader who thinks he is safe was now wounded, lets see how confident they are now.

@Severin, I like how one of your characters gets in the other's way!

And yeah, good call. I wish the roll was as good as the decision, but I have a once-per-encounter skill with Mr. Trident's name on it, too.

It'll be a few turns, I guess, before Baldy can get close enough.
