Nihal

Valar Lord
She's not that close to Liadan and Batos so her crash would affect them (and she's too light heh). She was between the town and the forest.

Even if Liadan doesn't see Mauve, I'm sure a cannonball like that would make a splash. Splashes aren't isolated: the water moves outward, and even afterward there'll be ripples from where she went under. How far is Mauve from the others, and who would be in the range of her splash to possibly be affected by it? That's mainly what I'm asking -- would Liadan even be in the range of the splash and/or ripples to be affected by them, even if she isn't paying attention to Mauve?

EDIT: Ninja'd. Thanks Nihal!

Related question -- can I have a STR check to lift Batos in the same turn as the healing spell, or not? I'm tempted to say no, but I just want to make sure.

You can make the check. I think it will be hard for Liadan to life Batos, given his size and the fact that she won't have good leverage on a rope. But she should be able to hang on to him while the others haul the rope back up.

I'm still saving Exalt for the possibility of a gnoll battle. Also, Liadan can't see Cadell at the moment, so I'm not sure if it would work on her anyway. Don't want to bend the rules too much.

I'm still not clear on how Batos' elf/wolf change is supposed to work... doesn't it make him a bit overpowered? Just my opinion, mind you, but I'd personally rather he stay a wolf. He's already better than a real wolf with regards to his intelligence and telepathy; turning him into an elf seems to be pushing it.

actually his stats would not be combined at all- he's a normal wolf when he's wolf. and if he becomes elf (actually planning on half elf favoring elf) then he would be just that. plus he's only level one atm

True, but even if he's a druid with the option of shapeshifting, that's pretty over-the-top. Normal druids don't pick their first totem animal until level six. Having Batos be a shifter at level one is kind of unfair.

Keitsumah

uhh... okay lemme try and break this down.

1) Keitsumah is the druid, and a notably weak one atm...

2) Batos was turned into a wolf by his mother -he is not a druid.

3) Plan is that Batos began as a wolf, to help defend keit, then turn into an elf again when she got strong enough to release the spell (aka: be able to become an animal herself but instead have that backfire) His stats are that of a perfectly normal wolf, albeit a smarter one, but then has that really made any difference? keit could have just told him to do all of those things had he been a regular animal and i don't think that would have changed a thing.

4) Batos won't be able to shift back when he becomes an elf again. Plus his stats will change to that of an ordinary level one fighter/knight (have to pick his class yet but it's a close-combat type). So other than having exp, i don't think that much changes other than his body. And because he is not a druid, he won't ever be able to change again. he'll just be an average half-blooded elf.

This whole thing is just to add an interesting plot change, which Steerpike agreed to via PM.

Any other questions? :p

With both Batos and Nissa, things will develop as the characters level. There are aspects to their stories that are not available at low levels, due to power considerations, but as characters level things can change.

Just a note for Ankari -- Cadell doesn't serve any gods, elven or otherwise. Liadan is the devout one. ^^

Another note for Ankari: grab the rope. Baldhart wants to fight!

Or get Hall to grab the rope.

I mean this^ as a serious suggestion. If for some reason, players don't post, can we have our characters suggest stuff to their characters? And if the player doesn't respond, the GM post has that character follow the suggestion as long as SP feels it's not a stupid suggestion and that compliance wouldn't be blatantly out of character?

I'm fine with Baldhart wolf-fishing for a few more posts (and I'm really glad her silly-looking action helped save Batos in a non-suicidal, put-more-of-us-in-distress way), but it seems like the players not posting could be on the rope so players who are posting can get in the fight.

Hmm… maybe we can ask the militia men to help.
