I'm just glad that spider died before it could make another bite at Liadan. Somehow I'm not sure I would have passed a CON check. :/

Cool. Up she goes then. Nissa will get her sword when she can.

I'm assuming Nissa's only action is to bomb fish demons so they don't attack her allies. I'd have her bomb the big fish, but I think life-saving is the priority here, so she's cutting off a path to the stairs for now. Her next bomb will be on the big fish!

But what I'm really asking is this: does Nissa's turn end when she drops the oil? (I assume yes.) If so, I'm contemplating having her fly to the boat for a rope, depending on how easily Gisla can get up. Or maybe the men have a means of reaching her. I'm interested to see how the men will react when Nissa reveals herself to them! I'm assuming she was hard to notice, and... oh... so what people saw was fire comes from Aldar's hand and flits all over the place, then causes an explosion.

Sorry Aldar! Nissa will explain it wasn't evil wizardry (that time). Just a sort of divine intervention. Nothing to freak out over.

hehe no worries Legendary :)
Btw just for your info I got Aldar to drop a silk rope over the cliffs for you all, to where Baldhart climbed through the railings, So You should be able to climb up with ease.

;)

Could the venom or whatever is spitting from the spiders mouth be used for a weapon of somekind? Or perhaps even an advancement to a weapon, E.g. coated blade or attached to a pole some kind of poisonous spear?

Poison for a weapon? Might not fly with good gods.

So the militia just saw Aldar shoot several small fiery missles and now just sumoned a naked flying demon from a torch to make a fire attack on the enemy?
I'm sure they won't mind...much.

Actually, SomethingToPonder, you were on the stairs last round, where you'd have to have been to try your magic missile and to see what was going on below, and all you said in your post was that you turned to the militia men, not that you went over to them, so technically Aldar should be on the stairs, though on the top level. But let's assume that as soon as it started to sway he made a mad dash to solid ground. That way no editing is needed :)

Poisoned weapons are generally going to be considered dishonorable. Whether they're outright evil probably depends on use. Some gods would certainly frown on the use as dishonorable in combat. But players can do what they like, and if you can figure out how to get the spider venom and keep it safely in a container of some sort, it would be usable I imagine.

Oooh, I just remembered that Cadell can use his Exalt ability to help those who are climbing pass their DEX checks a little more easily. Is it too late for him to act this round? He didn't actually do anything when I posted for him last time, after all.

ill be able to post in a bit but atm class is busy. Ireth i want to try something about Batos's past that would involve Cadell knowing Batos's father and a bit of who he is. they don't have to have been best friends though.

My idea is that Batos's father, Arrcafah, would have been a knight alongside Cadell, but have been a bit more.... how should i say it "battle minded?" He married a druid elf named Celestia who had bonded with the alpha female of a wolf pack.

They had two sons, Batos and his twin brother Bibindoe, but though Arrcafah was proud of his two sons, he favored Bibindoe and trained him from the get-go as a knight in hopes to make his son the best. Sadly, Bibindoe died after suffering severe injuries when only seven, but Arrcafah didn't react, and instead planned to take on Batos instead because "Bibindoe had been weak". After suffering the loss of her first son, Celestia panicked and called her companion, turned Batos into a wolf pup (she wasn't strong enough then to make him an adult wolf), and sent the pack into the forest to protect her son until it all blew over.

However, several weeks later, a warg pack attacked the wolf pack while they were traveling, and killed them. Batos fled, the last survivor, and ended up bowling right into a net that keitsumah had set in the path to catch him, having seen the wolf pup being chased by the wargs. She pulled him up into the tree and poured out a cloud of poppy seed powder into the wargs' noses, making them fall asleep so they could flee. Batos has been with keitsumah ever since then.

Now, this is just a rough idea, and leaves a few holes, but the end result would be that Batos remembers his father and his brother's death, and the fear on his mother's face when she changed him over. It would give him a reason to want to go back to his home and get revenge, but at the moment he's focused on protecting keitsumah. And if he got turned back, Cadell may be able to recognize him since he looks just like his father except for the eyes. As well as his father's ruthless battle tactics...

Hmm... that would mean Batos' parents lived in Aelwyd Eirian, though, and you still have the problem of getting wolf-Batos to the northlands to meet Keit. Wargs and wolves don't use ships, after all, and it seems unlikely that one would be a stowaway without human (or elven) intervention. That is even MORE unlikely, what with people in the north being afraid of Batos.

True.... maybe i could change up keit's past a little bit. When Cadell was fighting that Orc was there a fire by any chance? and more than one Orc? Ardoway and her parents could have died fighting multiple enemies in the blaze, and she would have fled.

Which orc do you mean? Cadell's fought a LOT of orcs in his time. If you're thinking of the Lady and her horde, there were thousands of orcs. No fire, though. It was springtime, and the forest was too wet for the trees to catch fire. Also, that was only a year ago, which doesn't fit your timeline at all.

bah! well can you think of anything? I may be able to be ridiculously creative and worm around things to make it sound reasonable in some points, but even this has me stumped.

Well, keitsumah's family had to have died in a fire, that's the only requirement i need. And you saw Batos's past so that may work.

Maybe you're trying to shove a square peg into a round hole. I'm not sure it's feasible for Cadell to have known Batos' elven family from the details you're giving, so I don't think we should force it to be so. We can brainstorm something else. :)

Keitsumah

Grandmaster
*shrug* i'm listening. Batos could actually not have a twin brother, but i can't really think of much else for him to want to get revenge on his father for.

you know what i need that map again so i can see where all of this is going on. otherwise i can never keep it straight...

I though exalt/inspire had to be used as something that affects the next turn.

If those skills can affect the current turn, don't bother. +2 is of no help to Baldy or Liadan! (Lucky for Baldy, she can use her STR and barbarian skill. As for Liadan... ROPE! (Oh, and if that two-handed sword didn't slide over the edge, would you be so kind as to take it with you? Baldy left her scabbard... well, forever, I guess. Looks like the leather worker has more business coming from Baldhart. Her current scabbard is built into her bearskin cloak, which is about to be ruined.)

Oh... you have a good point, as some will need checks next round. If that's what you intend with Cadell and he already has his bard skill (does he already have that?), then yeah, it makes sense to exalt now.
