@SomethingToPonder:

Just to clarify on the magic missile - you were out of mana, by my count. I have you at -1 mana right now, so no you can't cast anything else. Your last attempt was at 1 mana point. Since magic missile takes 2 mana, you were able to make the attempt (as long as your mana is positive, you can try to cast even with insufficient mana) but it was heavily penalized and the spell didn't go off.

Yes I got that, Thanks Sp :)

okay -may have just saved Baldart from an agonizing death there. and Batos may have just killed that darn caster finally!

Yeah, there's a good chance Batos has done for the caster. There's also a good chance he's about to be surrounded by a large number of angry fish demons, but that's what make life fun :)

ack keit better have enough mana to cast entangle and get his butt out of there!

(how are we expected to survive this may i ask!???? unless the gnolls suddenly save us all I think we are screwed in all sense of the word)

No, I won't railroad you into a situation where you can't survive. I won't necessarily stop you from getting yourselves into one, but if you look at the current situation I think party can survive it. The fish demons are in the water and there isn't soon to be a staircase, from all appearances.

Well, going by the current situation, I'm not sure everyone will be off said staircase before it collapses, which only makes the situation worse for them. :/

Haha. The party is pretty resilient, actually. You guys have gone longer than any of my campaigns with no character death, so that's good.

Yes, but we also have several newbies in this instance. Hall and Aldar especially. It's mostly them and Liadan I'm worried about. Bressel, not so much. He's got advantages like that Primal Instinct thing, being a barbarian.

hmmm *waggles a string and piece of catnip above Steer's nose* you want it? Make the gnolls play nice and help us out! ;)

(knew it was a bad sign when i suddenly came up with a new character....)

just saying if Keit or Batos does die, or both do, i'm not unprepared for that situation. Though how a ten-thousand year-old Druid stag named Farrow is going to make any sense is beyond me...

well Druid in the sense that he can talk and is the sole oldest member of his kind and is sworn to protect humanity. He's not actually a druid per se.... Farrow would be more of a paladin i think. He's your regular deer/elk but for dozens of runes burned into his flanks, his dark green fur, and huge antlers. Also, his eyes are pitch black. Plus he's... 8 feet at the head not including horns.

He's the result of hundreds of blessings of life from other elves, so that he could protect their realm alongside a thousand other "Druid stags" alongside the knights, but they died out several thousand years before Cadell came around, along with their history. Farrow really doesn't remember much of what happened during his life after the loss of his brothers, but all he knows is that he's the last of his kind and that they have been forgotten other than for a few vague legends. He's just been wandering around really, protecting victims of banidts and inadverdently creating a new legend about the "Forest Spirit".

Steer if the above scenario would happen the group would need to be in a forest for anything about Farrow to make sense lol -but then he is so old that he is a tad odd...

I have a few ideas for backup characters too, in case Cadell or Liadan doesn't make it. Only trouble will be choosing between them all. :/

But you're so kind! I'm always expecting trouble for Mauve, reckless as she is, but somehow she didn't even face-smash the ground.

It doesn't seem to easy to die in your campaigns—unless you jump in the middle of an angry mob of demon fishes, of course. :x

OK cool. Just making sure :)

No problem. Always good to have someone keeping an eye on things and lending a hand.

Regarding the gameplay at the moment, I think we have an excellent chance of making it as a party, We just need to get off the staircase and we will be fine, (hence why I was calling for retreat a few turns ago) If anyone does die hopefully it will be a minimum amount of people.

Stick together team>. :D

I'm still waiting on Steerpike's word for whether Cadell will reach the party in time for the battle or not. Not that he can do much good, since Bressel's borrowing his bow and arroww, and if we lose the stairs there's no way to get the fish-demons in a melee.

Mauve: The fishies are feeling lonely; you've abandoned them, barbarian! All they want are hugs! *kicks Baldhart down the cliff*
