and using underwater plants can be tricky, but wouldn't they count as they are on the "ground" technically?

I don't know if a die needs to be rolled for Entangle. If no die is mentioned and it's life magic, it sounds like the spell just happens.

Wait for the GM post. I'm not sure how many deaths. I think the first to die fell after 7 HP damage, so maybe the minions are d6 baddies? Note: even if we figure out the enemy (stats) in one battle, they may be different in a later battle. The caster was a surprise.

Not as surprising as crappy barbarian rolls. Great job, rest of the team!

Aliron hit first one with 8 damage and the fishy went swimming. The second fishy to be hit I did 4, then 3 and Aldar did 5. (12damage killed)
The current lagging target has 14, possibly 16 damage(If Aliron hit). (9 Liadan, 5 Aldar, 2 Aliron)
That would leave just the three in melee to contend with, unless the caster surfaces.

The time between Fish attack and Gnolls might be very important. By the time the gnolls arrive the town people might be worked up into a frenzy and might look at our group as another enemy. The town could riot and then the gnolls just ride in to finish everyone off.

I keep thinking, Masaba might have left with the girls by now...then I remember its the same night.

Quick, we must find a shrubbery (two if possible), and chop down a tree with a herring. It's the only way of avoiding complete anarchy!

Take it as an important lesson about recklessness in battle. Baldhart was asleep, so I couldn't have her say 'lure them up the stairs.' But that's what her plan would have been.

Speaking of reckless, don't forget the gnolls come in an hour or two, and in an hour you get 1 MP back at level 1.

Actually, judging by the descriptions of things in the Side Trek thread, it may be closer to 30-45 mins. Unless Ankari finds a way to delay them further.

The wargs reacted to the howl. I wonder if it's the wargs independent of the gnolls, or if the gnolls see weakness and feel that now is the perfect time to strike.

Well, Cadell chose not to remind them of the traps, figuring they'd remember from the last time he spoke to them (and yes, this was deliberate on my part). So unless they all follow Cadell in single-file, they're going to blunder right into them. *evil grin*

Of course, that may result in Cadell being struck down by those who avoid the traps and have the sense to retaliate against him. But I'm sure Cadell knew that when he made that decision. "The needs of the many," after all. And hey, Baldy wanted a fight, so she's gonna get one.

We are definitely in for a hell of a lot of trouble here. We may not like it, but keep in mind retreat is an option. If we can get away without dying, In a worst case scenario of course then we should.

The wargs weren't going to come to the village anyway, if Ghendra was really going to obey Cadell. It's the gnolls who are on their way to search the village for Catli, as Cadell is rushing to warn people beforehand.

We're going to need to consider all possibilities and have a strategy that suits as many of them as possible. That way we can be prepared for as many outcomes as we can. I have no idea how this is going to play out, But I am certain we are going to need to be careful, we have at least 3 battles that could happen, and I dont think losing any members of our group is an option, so we need a battlefield and a plan. Make them fight on our terms.

What are the preparations we made like back in the town? How many did we get finished?
And what do you all reckon relations will be like with the townspeople?
