Do elves need full sleep like humans, or do they go into that half-sleep that is commonly attributed to them? If I'm half-sleeping, I'll write a scene where Baldhart finds me. If I'm in full sleep, you guys will have to initiate the conversation. Ankari hasn't slept in two days.

Baldy flaked out when fighting the harpies. She had just seen Nissa, so striking down a winged woman was hard on her. That combined with her fear that a harpy child would starve without the adults to care for her, she made a half-hearted plea for mercy on their behalf. It didn't go over well, and in her heart, she knew the harpies didn't deserve mercy. But what made her feel weak is that she walked away and left the fate of the harpy child(ren) to the party. Mauve and Cadell got her to snap out of it.

In unrelated news, there's an annual publication from the county's Catholic schools. Now that Amelia, my oldest, goes to a Catholic school, we get this annual report. Pictures are taken at several schools, but check out the cover page. Amelia's on the right!

I think the half-sleep trance is something that came into D&D in 3.0 or 3.5e. The Castles & Crusades rules don't appear to adopt that approach (they're silent on the issue), so at least under the rules as written I'd say it is a full sleep. That said, it doesn't matter to me if you prefer to play them the other way for flavor, so long as it is consistent.

In case it is full sleep, does Baldy find them?

I take it my failed DEX check can't make me conveniently trip over the person I'm looking for, but…

Can Baldy make her assumption that they're watching her and make guesses regarding vantage points? Since she's at the dock, she tries that "first."

(Out-of-character I know it's the right place, but she checks there first because it's closest. If it weren't, she'd check vantage points that give a good view of the Spear next, then the temple and other important places, such as a place to watch the main road into town for incoming gnolls.)

Hm, I'll have to reread that bit.

EDIT: So, Baldy has moved off... should I expect a response to my last post, or can I get Liadan back to the Spear to inform Cadell about things? Shame I can't edit my post from last night.

Baldy could probably find them given time. They're in the woods and the night is dark, so it would take some searching. Batos could probably sniff them out pretty quick :)

So... I guess that's a no?

Well, I'm curious as to what Ankari will say when awaken by a barbarian sitting in the snow wearing more paint than clothing.

She has the rag biniki all level 1 RPG characters have on in video games, a pearl necklace, and what's less obvious unless you know to look for it, she's wearing the ring and blatantly abusing its benefit. (Hopefully, the smith will give her an incentive to get dressed again.)

Welp, Cadell seems to have come to his senses now (at least somewhat). Only problem is, what can he do to make amends? In his own words, "Even fighting the gnolls goes hand in hand with my oath to them."

I think half sleep of elves is when they do it regulary, I think the longer they go, the deeper sleep they would go into when they finally do.

Yes, no response. She's on a mission from God…dess' tiny valkyrie.
In this form, I mostly here people say it in a deep voice an draw it out to be "a mission from Gawwwwd."

My last post (at 10:45 PM) was done from a mobile device. I tried to catch the auto corrects, but I just reread it and noticed a few butchered sentences. Sorry!

That moment when you're writing a complicated response and you close the window by accident.

Try opening a new window then see if you can get an auto-saved portion.

I had a @#$% moment once, and I couldn't recover the auto-saved part so i went home. When I got home, I opened a new window and I turned out the post was auto-saved!

Of course, you posted since, so………… yeah. I think you're @#$%ed.
