@Keit, if you want your character to follow Brynhild, she should probably state that desire in-game to Baldhart since she just said she doesn't follow a god or goddess.

(If Hel or a newly-created god/dess, I'm sure you and SP can come up with something.)

@SP, it occurred to me that "the men" discussed fishing nets. When Baldy referred to "men," she meant Grim and male PCs. But your post means there are multiple male NPCs jumping into the discussion. Does this mean the militia men prefer seeing gnolls burn rather than fighting them head on? They did seem a bit shaky when they saw Cadell ride back into town, so I'm not all that surprised.

I wonder if, for better or worse, part of Baldhart's rant got the militia men to say 'screw honor.' Was it her take on how a follower of Brynhild acts… or before that when she said we'd get killed if we fought honorably?

How hard can it be? C'mon… have Mauve walk sideways up a tree in front of those guys. When they reluctantly approach with trembling swords, don't even threaten to use a real spell. Warn them that you can control gravity and cast a spell on them that makes them stand sideways for the rest of their lives. Tell them it means they need to stay indoors or they might fall sideways into the horizon over the sea. Or you can cast 'Upside-Down' and make them fall up.

See? If you're going to deceive dim-witted villagers, this is how it's done.

That would be an effective tactic... if she hadn't a negative bonus on top of her non-prime charisma. Alas, charisma is her weakness, such a promising character with no CHA to lie efficiently! (besides the occasional rotten luck, that's a hell of a weakness too heh)

She's better off simply standing upside-down and pretending to cast something, maybe actually casting a Shield spell and smiling creepily when the arrows bounce at the thin air.

Mauve: You can't touch this! *puts on her best The Exorcist smile*

Villagers: GAHHGFWGHFghFW! *flee towards the village*

Baldhart: *intimidate*

Villagers: OMFGEGFYUWHHAAAEEUUGH—

Yeah, I know. T_T

The probable outcome would be she falling down the tree after being zapped by her own goddamn jinxed shield spell. But one can dream, right?

MAUVE: Abraca-shield!

(gets zapped)

MAUVE: Eeeeeeeeee!

(falls from tree)

MAUVE: @#$%! ****ing @#$% &*%$ of a @$#%$# to @#$!!

VILLAGERS: GAHHGFWGHFghFW! *flee towards the village*

Curse me and my inclination to write out posts well before they happen... I have an idea for a Cadell-Baldhart interaction the next morning, but it might be a wasted effort, since we still haven't faced the gnolls yet and I dunno if Baldy's even going to survive the night. :/

Uh oh! Ankari is biting of more than he can chew at the moment!

Play dead! Uhm, that's only for bears, right?

Good bye, ranger, it was nice to meet you. The "psychopath bard" spot is vacant at the moment if you have interest on this position. =P

It's very convincing with that pool of blood spreading from all the open wounds.

Here's an idea:

RUUUUUN!

or if he really is going to risk it all to deliver the note, then

Make a paper airplane and RUUUUUN!

Wouldn't the dogs think "Hey, free, fresh food" with all the blood around him? :x

Maybe it's just because Cadell lives in my head, but I think a little more highly of the gnolls than that. I don't think they eat people.

Just to be sure I remember correctly.

Bressel is waiting at the boat, polishing his sword. That is oiling it after sharpening it, not some other meaning. (The other character(The cleric) might have meant something else, not Bressel.)

Aliron is walking to the docks along the seashore, watching in case Baldy should approach by boat.
