Also, HEY. Geralt said he wouldn't set Branwen on fire, he said he'd poison her or something! One of you is a liiiaaaar. >P And I thought devotees of Tyr weren't supposed to lie, cuz it's taboo? Geralt isn't serving his god too well if he's telling untruths.

No, he wasn't going to poison her. He's going to drug her so she won't feel pain, then set her on fire. The purification by flame is essential, but he's not going to be cruel about it :)

Ooooh, well that makes sense. But still... D= Poor kid!

(I hope you realize Cadell's probably going to stage a rescue. XD He'll do it alone if nobody stands with him.)

Oh man, I totally just thought of something. Matthew might have some more purpose in this plot after all! Surely Father Geralt would listen to a fellow devotee of Tyr, if Matthew vouched for Branwen's goodness!

...Wouldn't he?

((Also, realized something else while browsing the subforum. I seem to recall it being mentioned that one adds one's level to attribute checks that aren't attack rolls, like Cadell's +3 CHA bonus of recently (+2 for his level, +1 for his CHA mod). So sir Matthew would roll 1d20+2 (I think. What level is he again?) when doing CHA checks, since he for whatever reason has no CHA modifier. Either way, doesn't that mean things like his attempt to Inspire the company in the fight against Calexa would have worked?))

NB: And they totally have the time to send word to Matthew about this, too! Since Geralt's only going to see the Elders the following day, maybe someone could ride to where Matthew is and bring word of what's happening in Arendal.

*goes to check the map to see how far apart these places are*

The problem with Inspire is that the effect is determined by CHA mod. So if you have a CHA mod of +3, allies get +3 bonuses. If there is no CHA mod, then the bonus is zero, at least as the ability is written :)

Baldhart will ask Cadell to borrow his horse, though that'll be in the morning. Since she'll ask him about that, it's one way to send word. Another is through Grim's runner. Baldy will ask Grim if he already sent the runner and included the message about the beast hide. That would save Baldy a trip.

I guess in any case a runner can be sent. (Though I expect Baldy's right about fat-boy, speaking of runner. If so, sleep will be likely interrupted.)

EDIT - Staying the night means NEW CLOTHES!! WASTE IN-GAME MONEY ON A SHOPPING SPREE!! WOO-HOOOOO!!

Well… I imagine Baldy can't wear one outfit every day for the rest of the game.

Good point, LS. Horses are useful that way. :D

And don't worry, I've already come up with a plan to save Branwen. Cadell will tell everyone about it in-game when I decide he's had enough time to put it together.

Speaking of which -- Steerpike, did you see my PMs? What do you think?

Oh, I was under the impression that enough time had passed for the sun to have fully set. ^^; Okay, nevermind. I'll edit my post. Sorry for confusing you!

*waits for a response from Steerpike about my intentions for rescuing Branwen* I can't give out the plan if I don't have a map, and sadly Steerpike is the only one who can give me one. XD

Baldy also hopes to shop before eating. She put together a mental shopping list while in the tub—she really wanted some peace and quiet so she could think straight.

(I'm not sure if bathing can be done in a room or in a place that Baldhart can bring Branwen. If there's no way to bathe and keep Branwen in sight, I'll edit so that Baldy asks Masama to watch Branwen first.)

Was doing some research on horses. Turns out a heavy war horse would not be as good as a normal sized horse when it comes to carrying a heavy rider.

Ponies can carry more pound-for-pound, but I think Baldy's too big for a war pony. (What say you, SP?) A 6'9" woman should weigh 205 with a normal frame. Large and muscular… I'd say mid 200s. (Her waist is slim.)

@Mauve, leaning or tip-toeing?

And, no, I'm not being a jerk. My 12-year-old niece in Hong Kong is taller than my wife now. I can't believe it's the same kid I once gave piggyback rides to! It wasn't THAT long ago, so it seems.

Yes, I know. Nowadays many teenagers are taller than me. D:

I don't know if Burnbright is taller than Mauve. I hope not.

Shopping time! Baldy's favorite! It's not just me being a male idiot trying to write a woman. Girls love shopping. It's a fact. I've done my research.

A three-year-old BOY wouldn't get this dressed up and enthusiastic just before heading to a fashion outlet.

And they were there from 10:00 to 3:00! Thankfully, I only had to be in on the shopping until 11:30, then I grabbed a table at Ruby Tuesday's and I left after we ate because my dad needed me to help him move furniture that he made to his customers' house.

Upside: got out of two hours of shopping.
Downside: the customers' dog dry-humped me.

So that sucked.
