Hahhahah.

Now I remember. The horses are in town. Or else their charred corpses are.

Ah well, you could only move at the speed of the slowest person anyway :)

Looking at my latest post, I realize something like "Lady's Favor" could be a really nifty thing for a knight. If they have a beloved one and bear a token of their favor, they could get a +1 to-hit bonus for their attack rolls.

...yeah, probably just wishful thinking, and a bit late in the game to implement something like it now. But it could be cool! Right?

Yeah, but the way I've been playing him since his exile, he's lost the knightly ability to Inspire. That's why I never had him try to use it during the fight against Calexa. ^^; The only Knight class abilities he retains are the ones involving horsemanship, which it wouldn't make sense for him to lose even when switching classes, according to Steerpike. Of course, if he accepts Baldhart's offer, that's another story.

Now I kinda hope he does accept it. Otherwise, he doesn't retain his no gossip code. It's only a matter of time before he's texting on his horse,

so ankari's like, grrr ur a wuss and i'm like oh yeh wth,
dawg? get a life, and he's like go kiss ur bff, knight,
and i'm like that's ex-knight 2 u and he's like whatevs

[causes 12-horse pile-up, killing entire party]

See? Texting on horseback is not only uninspiring; it's dangerous! Well, thanks in advance for getting us all killed in non-combat travel, ex-Sir!

^ *gigglefit*

Wait, I distinctly remember Cadell telling Ankari NOT to call him ex-knight...

Seriously though, I'm not sure he's really the type to gossip *anyway*. Considering that he's already shamed by that sort of thing happening in the wake of his exile, yeah, he won't want to let the same thing happen to others if he can help it.

Yes, it does. I don't know if Cadell favors swords, but it's better than waste the weapon selling or something. Clerics use flails, Líadan is another character who could use it.

Ooh, I missed this post. Yes, Cadell would definitely prefer his sword. Líadan could use the flail; another melee weapon would come in handy. Is it a light flail or a heavy one? And how does the enchantment work?

Or he'd prefer a sword. If Calexa's are best used separately, the scimitar is his.

EDIT- Posted test-swing in Act II hoping to make Baldy's knowledge of the scimitars' effectiveness official.

I don't know if it's light or heavy. Mauve never learns too many details about the enchantments, I only know it makes it "easier to hit", so, probably a bonus in the attack roll, but Líadan will have to try it out to discover how good is this.

P.s.: If the scimitar goes to Cadell instead of Ankari we should at least seek a better bow for him as soon as possible. The penalties the dice rollers are imposing on him for being a jerk are too high, haha!

He has Alin's old bow. As for the scimitar, it may be better in Ankari's hands if he doesn't mind using a sword instead of an axe. Depends on what the roll is, honestly. It's a d6 weapon, I think, based on the one time Calexa hit Baldy.

Missed this post. They can only move at the speed of the slowest person... and that's where the horses are useful: Put the slowest people to ride them!

Well, I kinda need to know whether it's light or heavy so I know what to roll for damage if she ever uses it in battle. A light one is 1d8, a heavy one is 1d10. Steerpike, can you clue me in?

Baldy will definitely stick to her original sword. +1 to hit is not a reason to reduce damage from 2d6 to 1d6. (Steerpike, please correct me if I'm wrong about the damage.)

Whoever wants a pretty scimitar, enjoy! If no takers, Baldy will keep it as a spare. Better than her current, which is the harpy's crappy 1d4 knife.

Dang, could cut out half macros on unseen servant:

to hit Calexa's magic Scimitar[1d20+3] = 6+3 = 9 damage[1d6] = 2
The Unseen Servant

Test roll that does attack and damage in one, never did that before.

I think Cadell is fine with his sword. It has 1d8 damage, which is still better than 1d6.
If it was +1 damage as well as +1 to hit, you'd come out ahead. But, yeah… increasing hit by 1 and dropping average damage by 1 isn't worth it. If Ankari's axe is a 1d6 weapon, the scimitar is his as far as I'm concerned. I'll only keep it as Baldy's spare if it's unwanted.

Hm. The attack could use some improvement, but there's nothing wrong with the damage! XD

EDIT: ffft, forgot her level bonus again! +1 for being level 2, +1 for STR at 13, and +1 for the enchantment on the weapon makes that a 10.

A +1 to hit for a loss in damage probably isn't worth it. If you're contemplating getting rid of weapons, though, keep in mind that while you haven't met any yet, there are monsters that can only be hit by magical weapons, in which case a +1 to hit on a 1d6 weapon is better than a 2d6 non-magical weapon.
