Nihal:

The spell can be cast on self or a target, and uses life energy, so Mauve failed to cast it. It takes 3 MP to cast.

3?! So, uhmm... what happens when life magic, when being used by a non-life magic user, fails? It's truly nothing at all?

Someone is at negative mana by accident. *cough*

So far, nothing. Whether that changes as the spells become more powerful or failures more dramatic is unknown. The information has been lost to the centuries, and Mauve or other wizards will have to rediscover it :)

Good. xD

Well, not her wizards, unfortunately, unless they happen to come across some lost tome or a life magic user.

@Severin, I totally support Alin scouting and finding out what those women and children are talking about. I also support Baldy staying out of Act III for a bit, or at least away from Alin's scouting, since I imagine she's the least stealthy character.

I got ninja'd, uninjaed and I don't know what. LS, you can keep your original post, I already erased mine when you changed yours and I don't know exactly what it was anymore, hah.

I ninja'd Ankari, too.

Okay, I'm gonna go fix a coffee now. The kids are napping (all three!!!) and it's quiet, so I need to step away from the laptop and if Steerpike happens to post something of interest while I'm making coffee, you are safe from any ninja'ing.

In the time it takes to make a cup of coffee.

One thing to be resolved would be which character will keep what. Mauve wanted the slippers, at least while she's shoeless, the bottle if no one claims it—magical items are fun!—and the robes and the dagger. These can help in case she destroys more clothes and perhaps in some future trick.

Besides the swords and the bow there is a enchanted flail and also a pair of non-magical but good looking earrings.

Note: I PM'd Steerpike to wrap up some Act II business. He approved my d100 roll for berries, so we now have an additional 35. Also, Branwen will eat well. So will the party if you don't mind eating something cute.

BTW - just FYI, Mauve's cloak does a decent job of hiding Branwen's wings from casual scrutiny. It won't hold up against someone who is paying close attention. More difficult to hide are her bare raptor-like feet.

I have no objection to you keeping all of that.

I gave one of Calexa's swords to Aliron, and the other to Baldhart.

Heartseeker went to Aliron.

Flail? To me, that sounds like a weapon a knight would use. I vote Cadell.

Sound fair?

Yes, it does. I don't know if Cadell favors swords, but it's better than waste the weapon selling or something. Clerics use flails, Líadan is another character who could use it.

Of the sword Ankari gave Baldhart we have yet to see if she will keep it.

Fair, yes.

I might pass on the scimitar, since the two-hander does more damage. Unless the two scimitars together can be used with no hit penalty, it's wasted on my character. In contrast, two 1d6 weapons without a dual wield hit penalty is better than one 2d6 weapon since I'd get the STR bonus for both dice.

Calexa didn't have a hit penalty, but I think it's because she only swung one at a time.

@SP, is it fair game to test swing to find out how the attack roll works? I'd like to think that while Baldy and Alin are in the woods, they get a chance to try out the scimitars (not on each other!!!) and Baldy would try her hand at dual wielding, as would Alin. They'd know if swing two swords at once is way easier than it should be, and I'd suggest Baldy gets two or none based on the result.

(I'm guessing the dual wield penalty is NOT negated, but would feel silly if I thought of it and didn't try in a no-risk situation.)

If it's a 1d6+1, that's as good as 1d8 and better if the +1 applies to both hit and damage. In that case any swordsman but Baldhart comes out ahead. For Cadell then, it's a matter of what hurts more? Flail or scimitar?

OK. I can't remember if you guys took the horses to the temple or left them in Srilkind when you came back. I thought you brought them to the temple but does anyone remember for sure. It's going to take me forever to find the post :)

To the best of my knowledge, the horses were originally brought to the temple, but Hiljikki took them back to Srilkind when she left the party.

Hiljikki and Burnbright rode them back, so both horses are in Srilkind.

I mean, err… remember it was mating season and a bunch of horny warhorses followed the palfreys to the temple? There was a horse orgy, they all rested, so we have like a dozen war horses out there. And a pony for Branwen and a little red wagon for Batos.

Ninja'd! Ireth! Shhhh!
