Not that you necessarily want Burnbright to vote, or to be a deciding vote, but I think you can safely assume that she's going to vote for whatever Baldhart votes for.

I updated the post to reflect the 5-4 majority. Still not sure what Aliron wants.

We probably want Burnbright to break the tie if Aliron causes a tie.

Well... then it's 7-4 or 6-5 in favor of underground. No worries, guys. I doubt Steerpike would have Darin persuade us into an impossible death-trap. If I'm wrong... whoops.

Nissa's voice will echo in her head at a critical moment, Use the force, Baldy.

*breaks down door*

*alerts 50 trogdolyte shamans*

Oops. See you in Asgard in a few minutes! Nissa to Brynhild: mission accomplished. Vulture to deliver Bald Eagle...

Do you think Aliron would give a direct answer?
Aliron suppports going back into the tunnels but can't say it directly. Stealth in all he does.

Quick question: if they do go down into the tunnels, what's going to happen with the horses and Hiljikki's reindeer if people get lost / die / otherwise can't get out? (Not too worried about the raven or the vi... thingy, since they can easily go down there with her.)

If no one survives, neither will they.
If anyone gets back, they can link them and walk them to town. (Let the reindeer go)

Is there anything around to close off the exit? Prevent preditors from entering the temple?
Could take them inside and close the door if the doors are still good.
That would shelter them from the weather if a storm came up.

Yeah, I think we should RP bringing animals in. Baldhart can kick down some doors which can be used to make a barricade at the door-less entrance. See post #251 in the Act II thread... or just take my word for it: There are a lot of doors. Baldhart's good at breaking them.

Apologies if I use up really good die rolls before combat, then roll 1s when it's life-or-death.

If I remember well, there are at least two entrances, Mauve used the side one when she first entered the temple. I don't know if the main room is windowless.

I think the animals could fit in the tunnels with us. I think we should bring them. They're the best fighters in our party.

If you manage to make them climb down a rope... =P
Heh, speaking seriously, I don't think they have much room to move inside the tunnels, I fear they don't even fit the opening.

Glad someone else said it before me. ;)

And if I said it, it wouldn't have been a joke. There's no way to get them down there. Fuggedaboudit.

Though it doesn't really matter. The way Hiljikki laid things out, she isn't going into the tunnels regardless—either she'll stay behind and watch Burnbright, if Burnbright doesn't go with the party, or she'll walk away from the group altogether if they do take Burnbright with them. The only way she's going in is if someone else stays behind with Burnbright.

And in either case, she won't be inclined to stick around in the temple. If she has Burnbright in her care, she'll head off… somewhere. Not sure where, probably not far, so they can catch up again later, but she doesn't want to keep the child at the temple. If she doesn't have Burnbright in her care, she'll offer to deliver the horses to the Crow in Srilkind—it's not like it's so far off the knights can't walk back on their own feet, especially since everyone else in the group travels that way. Maybe she'll stick around there, if she thinks there's anything useful to be learned. Or maybe not. She isn't keen on towns.

So, basically, unless she's looking after Burnbright, she's probably going to get written out of the story, at least for the foreseeable future.

I do have replacement possibilities. It would even be possible to plug one in immediately: he could have heard rumors in Srilkind of the party heading off for the temple, decided to go see if they were still there, and happens to arrive while the group is preparing to descend. Yes, that's a bit contrived… though a lot less so than bumping into him in the tunnels. Even as a prisoner. (Though there might be some fascinating irony involved in the case of one of my choices, if that did happen.…)

If Steerpike okays it, yeah, get your replacement in there! The more in battle, the merrier!

(Hiljikki would be missed, though. She's cool!)

I think it would be wise to leave Burnbright with her. Of course you could always play two characters if you want to bring in your replacement.
