Danger Will Robinson!

I converted to miles for my calculation then forgot to divide by three to get back to leagues. Let me fix that. Ravana, you may want to edit your post too :)

Just a thought... once the coins and gems in the chest are divided equally, how many of each does that leave everyone with? And are NPCs included?

Hee. I thought that was a bit farther than you'd made it sound.…

Wolves have four legs so that if one goes lame, they can hunt with three.

Try running that one past Hiljikki some time. She'll tell you that, were that the reason, they'd be born with five. Then they could lose one and still be able to profit from the lesson. ;)

I'm trying, but the going is rough. The nature analogies and metaphors are running dry! I'm really enjoying the writing practice, though. It's tough maintaining that singular focus. At least for me. I seem to have writer's ADD.

Just wanted to note I'm still playing. Just wanted to wait and see if the party killed each other or not.

I knew it! Just waiting to see who will remain alive so Nod can finish him/her, uh?

I might be a slowpoke, noticing only recently the analogies usage (I think it was when you started to variate them more, making it more notable). You're doing a fine job, for some reason I particularly enjoyed how you wrote Mauve's choking, veering away from the analogies you were using so far by the birds usage.

It could be because I like birds or maybe because you were describing a violent struggle using a peaceful sight. It wasn't how I would expect such scene to be described, but didn't break the immersion with me, made me focus in different details like the speed, the helplessness/frailty, frequency, all in a different light, rather poetical. It also informed me that Ankari is capable of thinking in a less brutal way.

I was looking for something and found this.
XP Bonus...? Congrats, Severin R! Aliron should be Level 2! (1340/1251)

That awkward moment when you take the abbreviation too literally... *flies away*

But yeah, that's true, he's level 2 now. Enjoy your to-hit and new HP! xD
Is this true?
I get a +1 and some more hp?
Do I roll or did it already happen?
I might be able to take a good hit from a sword and survive.

And Aliron, the lucky bastard, gets max HP up!

Does that mean another 6? 6+6 hp for leveling?
That would put me up with the barbarian for hp

Maybe I don't check in on the threads as much, so sometimes I don't know what's going on. I try to keep up as much as I can, but it's a lot to process some days. So I'm just looking for a sort of "OK, let's go" moment so I can get back in the swing of things.

However, yes, if people start fighting each other, how could Nod not join in? ;)

I believe Steerpike approved of my non-rolling option, which averages slightly better than if you roll for HP.

It's 1 + half the max die roll + CON mod. So if your CON mod is zero, you get 4 HP since your class uses a d6 for HP rolls.

In short,
STR classes = 6 + CON
DEX classes = 4 + CON
CON classes = 7 + CON
INT classes = 3 + CON
WIS classes = 5 + CON
CHA classes = 6 + CON

So yeah, if you started with 6 that means your CON mod must be zero (9-12 pts. in CON), so now you're up to 10. If you roll, you'll have a random outcome of 7-12.

EDIT - Ha, ha... you wouldn't be up to the barbarian, even if you try your luck and roll a 6. Baldy has 15 HP. I think most of the party is at 9-11, so you'd be up there with the other tough-guy class characters: ranger, knights and bard. Yeah, Nod's little, but he's solid!

I don't know bonuses, so I guess I would be up to a generic barbarian.
As it is I am equal to a warrior in hp.
With our die rolls, I was expecting a roll of 1or 2. So this would be better and more survivable.

I could have been dropped by long sword or arrow hit, now I could survive all but the worst.

Yeah... that's why I'm glad Steerpike allowed a non-roll option. For the barbarian, the best and worst rolls are 11 pts. difference! I'd hate to roll a 1 knowing I should average 6-7. Looking forward to that next level-up myself, and yeah... I'm opting out of a roll so I don't feel like an idiot getting a crappy roll knowing I could take a just-above-average roll for free.

Yeah, 10 HP should mean not having to worry about too many one-hit KOs. I'm glad Steerpike is using d4/d6/d8 attacks (so far). In that last battle, we were lucky. If that shaman attack was max damage (d8): Cadell would have fallen and Mauve and Rydh would have been at negative HP.

I'll feel safer when we all have double-digit HP... not that I'm blind to the potential damage that can come in-game in the near future.

I loved this, hah. I'm not the best person to do good rolls and Mauve's HP is so low that every little point helps.

For a wizard, it's one less than the max roll! You're twice as likely to do worse than you are to do better.

(4 = better = 25%
3 = same = 25%
1-2 = worse = 50%)

She's not planning on motherhood partly because she plans to spend eternity in a place where a husband or son would not be admitted. I'm sure the Freya-worshippers back home are quick to note that her narrow waist and solid abs are less than ideal for child-bearing. Nissa just gave her a third reason not to be a mom.
