Well, you know how men are. *scoff* If you don't, ask Ireth. I love Cadell's unspoken response to getting a hug. I'm seeing a pattern. The male interpretation of any female action seems to be, "she likes me."

That's pretty accurate. Now that I'm married, I can laugh at what I once was. (Unless I think about it too… oh, God! I was pathetic!)

Heh. And here I thought Cadell was pretty clear that "well, this doesn't necessarily mean she likes me... besides, I'm taken, and she might already know that." XD

Actually, Burnbright's been pretty huggy with Baldhart. The kid's rubbing off on her, so no worries. Cadell is correct about the platonic nature of the gesture, and the 6'9" mountain of muscle isn't after anyone. It's hard for a follower of Brynhild to look for a husband when her ultimate goal is to die and become a valkyrie.

Hey guys...thanks for your patience this week. I just took my daughter to the airport this morning. Getting caught up on work this afternoon, but this evening I'll be able to sit down and tie up everything that has happened so the campaign can move forward.

I've had different PMs about interrogating the lizard shaman, and unless I hear something to the contrary I'm going to assume that all of the characters who remained for the interrogation were there for the whole thing and will receive the same information.

Hope you enjoyed the time, Rob. Eater weekend will be busy, so I don't to do much. Assuming you won't thrust us into battle right away, Baldy will follow the group and mostly stick by Burnbright.
Mauve: "Who said you must be married to have fun?" *smirk*

Baldhart's dad said so. He's much stronger than Baldhart, and his overprotective rage is much more lethal.

(Since this is outside my character's current personal sequence, I'll post it here. The party has certainly been reunited long enough for this to happen.)

@Ireth: Hiljikki makes some suggestions as to how you might adapt to your newfound condition.

A shield can be modified so that, rather than having a grip, it has a leather cup at the end which fits over your stump; this, plus the strap that most shields have farther up on the forearm, will allow you to use it pretty much as a normal one could be. She also recommends a braided strap that goes over your opposite shoulder, since otherwise the shield could fall off, inasmuch as you don't have an actual grip on it. Hiljikki can perform all the necessary modifications if there is sufficient scrap leather about (and cloth, for the strap); otherwise we'll have to wait until we can get some.

This will, of course, still leave you facing off-hand penalties for your weapon hand, but it will allow you to be a "wall" and still do something with your other hand, whatever that may be.

Hiljikki observes that in her experience, torches can make effective weapons—at least to put opponents off their game, whether you actually damage them or not—so you could carry the shield, provide light for the party, generally remain in a central position to be the leader and call out orders, and step up to the front line as necessary. Of course, if you do this, and no one else is providing light, a false move could plunge everything into darkness, so it would probably be good if there were a second torchbearer somewhere… especially if you decided the torch was inadequate and you needed to draw your weapon.

If you pursue the crossbow notion previously mentioned instead, it would not be difficult to slide your injured hand out of the shield's straps and leave the shield hanging across your back while you shoot. Probably removing it or putting it back on would be a full round action: that's a GM call.

And Hiljikki will be more than happy to teach you how to sew. :)

I don't see anyone with antlers... just someone in a Viking helmet. (Which is funny, because Vikings didn't actually have horns on their helmets.)

Yeah, well, you don't see Hiljikki charging down a hall into combat like this mob either, do ya? ;)

(P.S. Read the edit "reason" on my last post. :D )

Hee. Though I gotta admit, the kid with the club is about the right size. Though the archer's complexion, and especially hair, is a lot closer.

I see Baldhart coming over to me, she still talks as if she is sure Burnbright is a devout, but what she herself has said makes me doubt it even more.

After looking at my most recent post I realize that the pronoun in bold print is unclear about who it's referring to. In case it matters (it proabably does not. The bold 'she' refers to Burnbright not Baldhart.
