I look on as Mauve makes a toy for Branwen, but speak up after a moment. "Don't you think showing her what looks like a bird in a cage might give her the wrong idea about us? I'm sure she saw the cage in the room we took her from, which was used for captives, not her."

These were my thoughts exactly.

I have sought after someone that left quickly in game and hasn't posted in a week.
Ankari lasted made a post on MS 5-19-13.
Is he on vacation?
Is he a ghost? His spirit doth vex me?

Oh! I thought you and Ankari might be in the situation we were in after Baldy carried you out and we fought a "secret" battle via PM.

So... how far does Alin search with no sign of Ankari? Also, what if both have successful hide/silent rolls? Would they not notice each other? It's not easy to follow a ranger or a rogue!

Then again, if Aliron never was out of sight, the party would be much poorer.
I go off alone, find 2 chests. I climb off alone, I find a box and a little bird.
What treasures will I find searching for the lost ranger?

He set up Iron Pen 9, but I haven't seen him post since. He's probably doing the Dad thing with his twins.

Actually, I took my wife on a getaway for a few days to the Georgia mountains. I've been back since yesterday, but haven't had a chance to post.

character is still in the game waiting for Steer's feedback.

Druids can do that?

"Wow...! If you can fly, you should learn that.…"

High enough level ones can, yep. It may be a while. ;)

"It's going to be tricky when we get to Srilkind. Batos and Branwen, I mean. A lot of people--not me, but most humans I've met here in the north--fear magic. They might not know how to handle the sight of Batos or Branwen. There are a few men I trust that can keep things friendly... and a young girl named Burnbright."

Your hearing becomes briefly and amazingly acute—enough so that you can hear Hiljikki's eyes rolling all the way back in Srilkind. And her calm, measured contralto saying: "So… we're adding an elf spellcaster, her wolf with the glowing rune on his forehead, and a child with wings, bird legs, and an enchanting voice to the group. In addition to the temperamental transforming wizard who wasn't with you when you passed through Srilkind. Yes, I'm visualizing quite the intriguing reception from the townsfolk who burned the grandmother of the girl we're trying to protect."

Or maybe you just imagined hearing Hiljikki. The odds of atmospheric conditions being such that you'd be able to hear her, without being overwhelmed by other, nearer sounds, are astronomical to say the least. Never mind being able to hear eyes roll under any circumstances. Besides, Hijikki doesn't know about the new party members anyway. So, yeah, must've been your imagination.

But it seemed so clear.… :p

Baldy: Hey, Nissa! My hearing's back—with a vengeance! I just heard an eye roll from miles away!

Nissa: Just one?

Baldy: Yeah. The other one must be too far away. Maybe he's not facing me, but to the side. Or she.

Nissa: She?

Baldy: Definitely she. The eye sounded girly when it rolled.

Nissa:

If it depends upon the temperamental transforming wizard at least her identity will remain a secret. I am, however, imagining when it will happen to one party member slip and call her "wizard", perhaps "mage", in the middle of the town...

Quick-thinking Baldy will cover for her.

"Yeah… aaaaaahhh—a wizard of FIGHTING! Who wants to run arm wrestle her? You! Waitress! Run. That's right, I - didn't - run - think - so!"

(Points to hearth.)

"Look! A Valkyrie!"

(Grabs Mauve and runs.)

I thought about mentioning Nissa as well, but figured that since her manifestation is under her own control, she at least would have the good sense not to appear and exacerbate matters.… :p

(I suppose that would depend on how Nissa sees her role in Baldhart's ascension. Taking half the town with her in a losing struggle to defend her adoptees might play quite well among valkyries, for all I know.)

If you want a straight answer, the plan (as far as Baldhart knows) is that Batos and Branwen will be hidden—made easier than she thought since Keit wants to stay out of sight, Mauve will pass for a spear-fighter, and Nissa will only reveal herself to Burnbright… also somewhere out of town. She's asking Darin about Drimmen-delve in the hopes there won't be a need to keep so many secrets from the dwarves.
