It's mod + level, so prime doesn't change your roll. A prime has a lower base for success, so you need an 18 + spell level to cast successfully. No matter how you look at it, the stumpy elf is just as smart as the barbarian girl... but the 2000 year age difference must mean something on Rolz because you nailed magic in one try, like the karate kid with the fly in the chopsticks! (Worst. Simile. Ever.)

Oh, okay. So it was a 22 after all, then. Awesome. XD Maybe I should've kept him as an illusionist!

By the way, unless someone kicked her awake, Mauve missed the berries festival again. She has this awful habit of sleeping when Hiljikki shares them.

Actually, unless Mauve were conscious, coherent and able to convince Hiljikki she were uninjured, Hiljikki would have forced her jaw open, stuck one between her teeth, and pushed down. Which is why Hiljikki starts with triage: she isn't about to assume that everyone is correct about their conditions. So, yeah, Mauve got at least one berry.

•••

Hiljikki

The otherworldly druid. So far we only caught glimpses of this eerie character. It would be easy to slip into the female elf druid stereotype and I can attest that Ravana isn't doing it. Hiljikki is wise beyond her looks, but it doesn't make her smug and distant. When upset by the party she isn't explosive, nor loses her way. She said she would relay the message and she did it. She's creative and can be relied upon. It's amusing to see how she can be similar to Mauve (small, lean, deeper voice) but is completely different, specially when it comes to down to temper.

Now she's reunited with the party we're going to be able to see more of her. Oh, yeah, and I want to see her in combat, I'm sure it'll be interesting.

No you don't. :p

Though I can probably guarantee the "interesting" part, since that's pretty much all she's got going for her. It will be fun to see what she comes up with the first time she finds herself in one of the party's throw-downs, that's for certain. One of these days, I'm gonna see about getting her a spell that has something to do with combat.…

Thank you for the lovely critique.

Ouch! Can I assume she did it after Baldhart picked her up? Mauve may have some different reactions, when, well, she's awake.

It makes some sense anyway, Hiljikki would treat people bleeding before someone who doesn't seem physically injured, wouldn't she?

Actually, she'd begin with people who were non-responsive, since those who are can at least give an indication of how badly injured they think they are. Someone who can't… goes right to the top of the list. So, no, she'll shove a berry down your throat as soon as she realizes you're out of it. 'Fraid you're stuck with it. :p

Besides, she knows what failed magic can do, and knows you're a spellcaster, so she wouldn't assume a lack of obvious injury meant you'd just decided now was a great time for a snooze.

Hey, I really meant it! One of the characters I've most enjoyed playing was healer/mage who had no offensive skills at all. It was truly challenging, we were thrown in battle after battle and I was forced to make the craziest uses of every combative spell I had.

Hiljikki already showed a little of her creativity with her fake casting and light plan. I want to see more of this.

I hope she tries to shake Mauve awake first. She regained her senses, she might awake again without too much* effort. ^^'

I'm just a little worried about the gap in the continuity.

Mauve is getting two.

Don't choke her to death with berries! <o>
Hahahha!

P.s.: *Without much effort like an angry barbarian woman scolding someone!

Feel free to move the party to the temple.

To revive the queen, Steerpike said that a check is needed (WIS, I think), so I'd say do the check, and if the number is 12+, ask him via PM if you succeeded. (Or PM the roll, too, I suppose.) If so, you can always do a flashback post like I did with Burnbright.

Rydh's got a decent WIS score, but the best bet might be Hijikki. I think Ravana's got an 18 for her in that department.

Not quite, but she's got something else going for her Rydh doesn't, so I think I can safely say she has the best chance. I'll take a shot and see what the boss says about it. Unless I bomb it, in which case it won't matter much.

Looks like I have a lot of reading to do :)

I'll get a post in ASAP today. Last couple of days have been pretty busy and now I'm at work for a few hours to catch up on things here. I'll be back!

As Legendary Sidekick said, if you want the party to rest back at the temple, that's fine. Hiljikki just made the trip with no problems.

I wanted to get the sleep part moving, but Mauve just mentioned Aslaug in front of Burnbright! Baldhart's been waiting for the right moment to spring that on the kid, but now that the name's come up--no choice! Ha, ha! Had to edit the post and will sleep later.

Aliron isn't great with wisdom checks, 8 wis(thats not a penalty if I remember, the only penalty I have is Chr)

Maybe she had. He's such a good thief that he stole it before she had the chance to use.

And don't ask about the dices. Gah, I'm going to try Rolz again.

And don't ask about the dices.

As it says in your signature you don't mind having your english corrected. Here's something to remember. Dices is not a word. Dice is already plural, so you don't add an 's'. The singular form of dice is die.
