The bottle of booze lying near the crates is Disney Princess champagne. I'm sure this is fake, but it makes a good bottle for the wino to use as a weapon.

Uh… wait. What wino? What weapon? You're not in any danger. Just singing and hugging in this game. Barney was the final boss. Everyone is safe now.

@Ireth, when you get a chance to see my PM, the implication is that Diana could partake in the ceremony and poison herself close to Beatrice—and armed—and it would be perfectly normal.

EDIT - Curse you, auto-correct. Now I have players drinking poison when they only need to move to another square.

@JRF, note the color codes for the many kinds of arrows you have. (You don't have phoenix, but Addison does so I made a color code for it.)

That is exactly what I was thinking...but I thought perhaps there was some plan you were concocting involving poisoning yourself :D

EDIT : Not in a permanent way, though...It sounded odd on a reread of the post.

Hi LS,

I thought you meant 'poison' as well, and started reading previous posts to see if I'd missed something!

Maps are ready. Also, if you're wondering how much your attacks hurt, I made a little graphic display for my own reference. For magic, Vincent's fireworks, Mariya's lightning song and Riff's falling rocks inflict the "standard" damage for the respective element.

Also, heavy weapons and dual wielding are special combat styles (as magic is a special style). I'll get into leveling/adding traits another time, but long-story-short, Fenella and Reaver can use heavy weapons and Shan Mai can dual wield.

Two 18s, Ireth? Guess you shouldn't mess with the Hawks!

PS - I just got a heads up from Ruby. She'll be offline for a couple of days. I'll swing her huge sword (which is named Solid Gold Dancer when I roll it) if her character is revived before she's back.

For April Fool's Day, you will play a game called TWO TRUTHS AND A LIE:

What you do is tell me which is the lie…

  1. Lady Death is Beatrice’s sister.
  2. In “Episode Zero,†Reaver killed an orc named Pink Floyd.
  3. Pixies are eleven inches tall.
…if you guessed #1, you're right. The Maiden's sisters are The Voice and The Spirit. The orcs in episode zero were all named after their hair color, and pixies are supposed to be 11" tall. Um… the drawings are not to scale? I mean, c'mon… look at Shan Mai's head. He could swallow a pixie whole.
If you identify the lie that I PM to you, you win a prize called "April Foolishness." It's a one-use item that expires at the end of the month, which I'll explain if you win.

I'll PM everyone a different sent of truths and lies. It's always TWO truths and ONE lie. I won't lie about the number of lies just because it's April Fool's Day.

About the rules update...

I want to add notes on class traits and healing magic*, but lunch break's over, and I have a loooooooooooooong meeting now.

*(Specifically, I want you to know why those who healed have a bunch of purple hearts. It's not like they're undead or permanently weakened. A gradual healing, which I'll explain later.)

Timeline
While in real life, both battles are happening at once, in game, the garden battle ended before the battle in the alley began.

What that means: by the time those at the garden get close to the rest of the party, the battle will be in progress.

How that works: we RP a little, then you end up on a map with an alleyway that will eventually bring the whole party together.

PS- Don't forget you have 58 healing berries. I'll have to note that number on the map somewhere. Diana and Jeisera are holding the berries. No one at the garden needs them now, but maybe some on the street could use a bite to eat. Note that if a player falls, the berry can't be force-fed. You'll need Song of Sacrifice in that case, or Mariya can use her water spell to wake someone up as long as she gets to him within a few turns.

Truths and Lies

TWO TRUTHS AND A LIE:

  1. Addison Lane has an Amazon lover.
  2. Hanako worships The Maiden.
  3. Addison Lane took her grappler gun from a dead ally.
  4. Addison Lane’s name means, “Awesome Warrior.â€
  5. Kojima Hanako’s name means, “A Friendly Elf from a High Place.â€
  6. Addison and Hanako both worship The Maiden.
  7. Kojima Hanako’s name means, “Small Island Flower Child.â€
  8. Muziko was once a human male.
  9. Lady Death is an evil deity.
  10. Sugarplum fairies do not have wings.
  11. The Jaundiced Jackal is created by Phil Overby.
  12. Pidge is created by Reaver.
  13. Holst is Riff’s brother.
  14. The Laughing Hyena is created by Phil Overby.
  15. Olga is created by Reaver.
  16. Emma Bison is inspired by the video game series Street Fighter II.
  17. Master Dan is inspired by the video game series Double Dragon II.
  18. In Episode Zero, Great Scott was the name of a giant orc who had an orc minion named Doc Brown.

Lie #1 - Her amazon friend is straight.
Lie #5 - That's the meaning of Nissa van Donk's name.
Lie #9 - She's neutral. I purposely didn't tell players what alignments the gods are, but none of the thirteen are evil.
Lie #12 - Pidge is mine, but there are NPCs created by Reaver, including the gray lady who you may suspect is not dead.
Lie #14 - Hyena's mine too, but Jaundiced Jackal is Phil's.
Lie #17 - I was thinking of this guy when I came up with the Dans:

Congrats to Ruby for catching me in a lie, and also sharing the thought process!

Your prize, Ruby, is April Foolishness. It allows you to change ONE die roll this month by 10 points, under the condition that it remains a number from 1 to 20. (If 1-10, you add 10; if 11-20, you subtract 10.) You can use April Foolishness on any roll—Fenella's, any ally's or an enemy's.

JRF's last post brings up a good point. Sound travels through that dark alley. Any character lined up (vertically) with the dark alley can be heard from both maps.

Any character lined up with the alley can also hear everything on both maps.

So, in other words, Reaver and Riff can be heard by everyone, and everyone can hear Reaver and Riff.

I'll try to stick to a Monday-Wednesday-Friday schedule for updates. I'm trying to keep my WIP moving at the same time, so I'll resist the temptation to move the game any faster.

I just need rolls for Fenella and Shan Mai. Likely, the update will be in the evening.

The nice thing about Mariya being small: if this area is cleared on this turn, she can hold the note while Fenella moves her to the next area.

Also, if you're wondering how far you need to travel, start this video somewhere between the 7-minute and 8-minute mark.

@Ruby, Fenella's second roll (as per LS's instructions) wasn't meant as another opportunity to attack. It's for diving out of the way of a firebomb.

Ireth's right. Bad news: you missed the bad guy with the 3. Good news: if someone else hits him, that 17 means no roasted princess (or muse).

@Ruby, feel free to edit your post to reflect Fenella (wisely) dashing back from the enemy after her sword misses (or is dodged) before the flaming bottles drop.

Oops! I'm sorry Fenella missed. That golden dancing sword is extremely heavy!

I thought you were inviting her to take another swipe!

No biggie... you prevented Fenella from getting burned, and possibly Mariya (though the fire hit the ground, so Mariya would have only been slightly singed at worst).
