The serial I'm working on at the moment was originally called "The Worlds Between," which was an awesome name -- because Jack Vance used it in one of his novels. So... had do dance around that one a bit.

But, I usually stick by my guns. Aravelle is the name of a gift company, and the name of a show horse. Not even real story characters but my inner perfectionist throws a tizzy. There's even someone with the username Aravelle Angel on here. I've had the name Aravelle for yeeears... no one knows my sadness. ;___;

I always google names of important characters, to see if they're fit to use. Nowadays one never knows what foreign vulgarity an innocent name could conceal.
Once I had a perfect girl's name; thought it up myself. Still, Google came up with a hit. Only one, a Chinese girl in New York, who used it for Facebook. And my name was the palindrome of her Chinese names, backwards of course.
