Just type [noparse]Your text anchor goes there[/noparse], or when replying a thread, click on the icon that looks a globe with a little chain link underneath it, above the reply text box.
The name of this formatting code is BB Code, it's the standard of forums nowadays. Here goes a list of all the available tags and examples: BB Code List - Mythic Scribes Forums
It's also possible to create tables (the tags are missing from this list), but it's a different kind of stuff.
