"Aye, thankee Mr. Eger, or whatever yer name is," Cookie says as he takes the powder keg from Mr. Ender. "Cap'n, get the next keg, and I'll takes the first 13-pounder. An' don' worry, Cap'n. My aim is true!"

(OOC: Cookie loads his cannon with powder. He intends to get the first cannonball and take the first shot. I'll roll for aim now, as well.)

Ender sees Reaver lugging the keg. "Nice going, boss!" To the others, he says, "Would the rest of you mind grabbing a cannon ball? This ship's for cruising, so we were lucky to even have two cannons on wheels… but they're just decorations without ammo."

((Reaver rolled just enough to get the keg in one try! No more powder kegs are needed. There is a "limitless" supply in the dark room, but there's only one reason* anyone would need to lug another keg out to the stern.))
Don't place the powder keg one square to the right of Beatrice.

I sheathe my sword and pick up a cannonball, following the others to where we're needed. Vincent is beside me, carrying a cannonball of his own.

Once the cannon is aimed, I look to the others. "I can light it, but you may want to stand back."

I make sure everyone is clear of me before mustering up a fireworks spell and aiming it at the fuse.

"Well, looks like you all have this handled," I say, leaning against something as I'm prone to do. "Let me know if you need help. Oh, and by the way, I know think I know that laugh. That hyena of all hyenas. If we blow up his ship, let me fish him out of the water just so I can make sure he sinks to the bottom of the ocean with my knuckles on his mind."

Pale Jackal ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥Mr. Ender ♥♥♥♥♥♥

Shan Mai may not realize it, but the chef responsible for the grog-basted meal he found is just outside the door about to fire the first shot back at the enemy!

((I rolled a 5, meaning he found the fifth item on the menu.))

Cannon balls and powder kegs brought in by the rest of the group leave Cap'n and Cookie two shots each—one loaded plus a spare. Pale Jackal seems to think four shots will suffice. As Vincent's spell lights Cookie's cannon he tells the others about the pirate's laugh, which he recognizes.

But the only sound coming from the ship at the moment is a BOOM. Frogmen hop out of the darkness, as if the cannon fire was a signal they had been waiting for. Beatrice scurries atop a stack of cannon balls.

Vincent, Cookie and the Cap'n see the smoke trail. The arc is high. It might not reach the ship at all. It might hit the stern, starboard side. It might hit…

Even in this poorly lit gunnery room we are once again besieged. I move as quickly as I can toward the frogman standing in the center of the floor nearest the powder kegs ((Foreground, center)).

The moment I get there I unleash my mae attack upon the slimy creature:

For some reason, this attack feels stronger than normal.

Smoke trails across the sky in the light of the full moon. I stand tense, holding my breath. Will this shot hit our ship, or pass us by?

"Brace yourselves, starboard at stern!"

Pale Jackal

I punch with wild abandon, having rested my arm for quite a while.

With a quick motion, he whips out the katana and strikes the nearest frog.

"The next one will be your head." as the swing misses completely, plays it off as if it was a terrifying warning swing.

I charge toward the nearest frog ((foremost between the rightmost and middle stacks of powder kegs)), unsheathing my sword and striking hard.

Reaver slices and dices with his Mae technique while Diana runs her sword through a frog torso with a thrust. The two frogs don't even know what hit them. Pale Jackal rushes his opponent with a flurry of jabs, then finishes him with the moonbeam uppercut. Another frog tries to strike PJ from behind, but Ender hurls a cannon ball at him. The juicy sound of frog brains hitting the deck is cut off by Shan Mai's "warning" slash. His enemy is intimidated by the samurai's speed, so he retaliates with strength.

Shan Mai feels the spear cut into his chest.

Cookie keeps his cannon steady. BOOM. He watches the smoke trail toward the pirate ship. He can see that his shot will hit. So does the enemy's—only a foot away from where the Cap'n is standing. Splinters fly, scratching the Cap'n's right arm and face. He brushes debris from his beard, laughing.

"It'll take more than that to force this captain off his own ship!"

The enemy cackle loudly. "You can swim or you can take the helm or you can die, Captain Goldenrod. It's not you I want. There's a man on your ship with pink hair. He knows exactly who I've come for. He just doesn't know what the knows." The enemy seems to find humor in this. He laughs even louder and more obnoxiously than before.

"You're a laughing idiot," Cap'n Bob says, shaking his head.

With my katana natana poised to strike, I run over to where a young samurai is fighting with one of the foul amphibious beasts.

((The distance appears to be at least six squares, so this takes up my turn for this round.))

The second I reach the fray, I execute a overhead diagonal slice across the frog-man's chest:

I don't relish violence, but I feel good about killing these repulsive brutes. At first I was annoyed by their unwarranted aggression, now I'm infuriated by it.

"You asked for it!"

"Next time, I'll use the sharp edge to cut you! You better run!"

(Sad that 2 swings miss, but doing alot better this battle then last. He still has all his weapons.)

((Updated map to reflect change in combo attacks—PJ killed his opponent. Reaver and Shan Mai both struck their opponent. Other PCs still have time to act.))

From the sound of it, the trouble is far from over. I pick up another cannonball and bring it out to where Cap'n Bob stands. "Need a light, sir?"

Cap'n replies, "Yes, Vincent. Your magic is good for more than just showmanship, I see. I'd appreciate the light."

Beatrice turns to watch Vincent make fire appear once again.

I nod, aiming the fire at the fuse of the cannon again.

"Well, that should do the trick!"
