Lily and I creep through the brush after our prey like the cats we're named for. My jackalope boots muffle any sound my feet might make; Lily doesn't even need that. I'm just glad my bowstring has had the chance to dry out in the past few hours so I can make the shot when it comes time.
I smile when I finally get the opportunity. The wind is good, my arrow is ready. Three, two, one, loose--
Not a perfect shot, but enough to wound the beast. I stand back to let Lily finish it with her spear.
