I'd like to describe Mythic Scribes Website at mythicscribes.com for consideration in the Genres/Niches category.

The website is a blog with guest bloggers and posts that are geared toward writers of fantasy.

The forum has a wide range of topics to help writers from concept to information on publishing.

There are also sub-forums for socializing, including role play.

The Admin and Moderators are very nice and are willing to help people.

Thanks everyone who has nominated us thus far. I'm optimistic that we'll make a good showing. :)

With only one day left in 2012, any last minute nominations will be appreciated.

Dear Mr. Klems and the Writer's Digest Staff,

I've spent the last year writing, and brainstorming, and researching, and chatting with other authors about my fantasy work in progress because of a web community called Mythic Scribes. At mythicscribes.com, Tony - appropriately known as Black Dragon - has assembled a team of moderators and article writers who are approachable, welcoming, insightful, talented and diligent at making our community ever-more collaborative and ever-more professional.

In the interest of full disclosure, I am a moderator at Mythic Scribes, and I believe that as we continue to expand our community and our reach, we can make a strong positive impact in the world(s) of fantasy literature.

Tony, and those of us on the Mythic Scribes team, have been working hard at pursuing opportunities and increasing our impact. As of this writing, Mythic Scribes has over 3,000 followers on Facebook and almost 7,000 on Twitter, rapidly catching up to the networks of the larger fantasy communities which should otherwise have twice the audience because they cover fantasy, and science fiction, while we focus on fantasy. We have recently coupled weekly articles with the launch of a short story ezine, Myths Inscribed, which promises to showcase talented writers from across the web, attract a larger audience, and offer clear examples to our community both of quality writing and of a path to publishing, both of which can otherwise be distant and otherworldly to beginning writers. We engage frequently in discussions about writing quality, character development, world-building, and publishing, and occasionally in a healthy back-and-forth about writing topics as controversial as dialogue tags or as meaningful as the nature of religions in a fantasy world. We look for opportunities to provide our fantasy writing community with reference materials, research, writer's tools, story challenges with panel judges, or recommended cover artists. And the weekly articles published by Mythic Scribes go through an editing process to ensure their quality before they are released.

Because that's what we care about. The vision of Mythic Scribes isn't a fantasy writer looking to build a network to promote his career. Tony, when he's not roasting gold-seeking adventurers with his Black Dragon fire, is a professor of philosophy and religious studies, fascinated by the myths and fantasies of the ages past. As such, his interest is in fostering a community based on our passion for the fantastic, and he allows talented contributors the opportunity to take the forefront without being overshadowed.

So I ask that you consider MythicScribes.com as one of the top websites for writers, in the "Fantasy/Science Fiction, Genres/Niches" category featured in previous years, and consider how many of the nominated websites offer the opportunity not only to learn about writing, but to contribute with their own real talent.

Wishing you well,
Brian "Devor" DeLeonard
